Auropro builds AI-driven robotics, vision, and automation systems for industrial customers in India and overseas. We're looking for an AI Engineer who's as comfortable writing production code as they are standing on a factory floor commissioning it.

About the Role
You'll develop, deploy, and maintain AI and machine vision software for industrial applications, robotic cells, inspection systems, and automated production lines , owning performance from concept through onsite commissioning. This role blends AI/software engineering with hands-on integration of robots, PLCs, sensors, and IoT systems.

What You'll Do

- Build AI/ML applications for defect detection, classification, process monitoring, predictive maintenance, and anomaly detection
- Develop 2D/3D vision systems for inspection, part ID, OCR, pose estimation, and robot guidance
- Select and integrate cameras, lighting, sensors, and industrial PCs; perform camera and camera-to-robot calibration
- Write maintainable Python and C++ for device interfaces, APIs, and operator tools
- Deploy and maintain software on industrial PCs/edge devices, including versioning, monitoring, and rollback
- Integrate AI/vision software with industrial robots, cobots, and PLC-controlled equipment
- Diagnose faults across software, sensors, drives, and mechanisms during integration and commissioning




- Travel to customer sites in India and overseas for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting

What You'll Need

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field (postgrad a plus)
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience delivering industrial AI or machine vision software on real equipment
- Practical project experience in robotics, drones, automation, IoT/IIoT
- Experience integrating sensors, cameras, actuators, PLCs, and robot controllers
- Robust Python/C++, OpenCV, PyTorch or TensorFlow, SQL, Git
- Working knowledge of PLC platforms (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Mitsubishi GX Works, Omron Sysmac, or CODESYS) and robot controllers (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, or Universal Robots)
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, TCP/IP; PROFINET/EtherNet-IP/EtherCAT a plus)
- Willingness to travel frequently and take extended onsite assignments (visa/travel documentation required)

Nice to Have

- Experience with digital twins, robot simulation, autonomous mobile robots, 3D bin picking, or GPU optimization
- ROS/ROS 2, drone flight controller integration (PX4/ArduPilot, MAVLink)
