Job Description – Cutting Machine Operator

Department: Production / Manufacturing
Reports To: Production Supervisor / Shift In-Charge

Job Purpose

To operate, monitor, and maintain cutting machines to produce materials as per production specifications while ensuring quality, productivity, safety, and machine efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate cutting machines as per production schedules and work instructions.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, cutting plans, and job orders.
- Load, align, and securely position raw materials before starting machine operations.
- Adjust machine settings to achieve accurate dimensions and required quality standards.
- Monitor machine performance and make minor operational adjustments as required.
- Inspect finished products using appropriate measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
- Identify and report machine faults, equipment issues, and quality concerns to the Production Supervisor.
- Minimize material wastage and ensure optimum machine utilization.




- Maintain accurate production, inspection, and maintenance records.
- Follow all company safety procedures and use the required PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following good housekeeping practices.

Qualification & Experience

- ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Production, or a related technical field.
- 1–3 years of experience operating industrial cutting machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Candidates with relevant hands-on machine operating experience will be preferred.

Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of cutting machine operations and safety practices.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and production instructions.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier Calipers
- Micrometers
- Tape Measures
- Gauges
- Basic troubleshooting and machine-setting skills.
- Positive understanding of quality and production requirements.
- Ability to work in a shift-based manufacturing environment.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Pay: ₹19,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
