Job Purpose
To manage the daily operations of the hotel restaurant efficiently, ensuring excellent guest service, high food and beverage standards, effective cost control, and maximum guest satisfaction while maintaining hotel policies and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the restaurant's daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure consistently high standards of food, beverage, service, hygiene, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Welcome guests, handle special requests, and ensure a positive dining experience.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve complaints professionally and promptly.
- Supervise, train, coach, and motivate restaurant staff.
- Prepare duty rosters, allocate responsibilities, and monitor staff performance.
- Conduct daily briefings and communicate operational information to the team.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, SOPs, food-safety regulations, and health and hygiene standards.
- Monitor restaurant reservations, table allocation, seating arrangements, and guest flow.
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen, stewarding, front office, housekeeping, sales, and other hotel departments.
- Monitor restaurant revenue, sales targets, average check, and operational performance.
- Control food and beverage costs, wastage, breakage, and inventory.
- Check stock levels and coordinate with stores/purchasing for replenishment.
- Verify bills, discounts, complimentary items, voids, and payment procedures according to hotel policy.
- Ensure proper cash-handling and POS procedures.
- Assist in menu planning, promotions, special events, and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Maintain proper records, reports, checklists, and operational documentation.
- Conduct regular inspections of the restaurant, equipment, service areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Ensure effective mise-en-place and smooth service during breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and special functions.
- Maintain professional grooming, discipline, and service etiquette among staff.
- Assist the F&B; Manager in achieving departmental objectives and implementing hotel standards.
- Support recruitment, induction, training, performance evaluation, and development of restaurant employees.
- Ensure emergency, fire, security, and occupational-safety procedures are followed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Assistant Restaurant Manager – Additional Responsibilities
- Support the Restaurant Manager in managing the outlet.
- Take charge of the restaurant in the manager's absence.
- Assist with staff scheduling, training, inventory control, and cost management.
- Monitor service standards and provide immediate coaching to team members.
- Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
Restaurant Manager – Additional Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the restaurant's operational and financial performance.
- Set departmental objectives and service standards in consultation with F&B; management.
- Monitor revenue, profitability, payroll, food cost, beverage cost, and other key performance indicators.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve guest satisfaction and restaurant revenue.
- Conduct performance reviews and develop team members for career progression.
- Coordinate restaurant promotions and special events with the Sales and Marketing team.
- Ensure compliance with hotel brand standards and applicable legal requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in hotel restaurant or food & beverage operations.
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience is preferred.
- Good knowledge of restaurant service, F&B; operations, hygiene, cost control, and guest relations.
- Knowledge of POS systems and basic MS Office applications.

Working Conditions
The position requires flexibility to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and during high-occupancy periods. The manager may be required to remain on the restaurant floor for extended periods and assist with operational requirements during peak service.
Overall Accountability
The Assistant Restaurant Manager / Restaurant Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth restaurant operations, exceptional guest service, effective team performance, cost control, and achievement of the hotel's Food & Beverage objectives.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
