About the role

We are building a specialist team for a telecom transformation engagement. As Licensing Specialist you will bring control and commercial clarity to the software and technology estate, from entitlement position through to renewal and audit.

Key responsibilities

● Build and maintain the effective licence position across major software and platform vendors.

● Review licence entitlements against deployment data and flag compliance gaps.

● Model licensing impacts of architecture and migration decisions, including cloud moves.





● Identify cost optimisation and rationalisation opportunities across the estate.

● Support vendor negotiations, renewals and true up discussions with analysis and evidence.

● Prepare for and support vendor audits.

● Define licence management processes and reporting for ongoing operations.

What you'll bringEssential

● 5+ years in software licensing, software asset management or IT procurement.

● Strong knowledge of licensing models for vendors such as Oracle, Microsoft, VMware, SAP or Red Hat.

● Experience of cloud and subscription licensing models.

● Experience supporting vendor audits and renewal negotiations.

● Robust analytical and Excel skills, with clear reporting to commercial stakeholders.

● Based in India or the Middle East, with the right to work there.

Desirable

● Experience with SAM tooling such as Flexera, Snow or ServiceNow SAM.

● Telecom or large enterprise estate experience.

● ITIL or SAM certification such as CSAM.
