Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Transmission / Gear Design Engineer with strong expertise in gear systems, mechanical design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing processes. The candidate will be responsible for supporting transmission component development from design and analysis through validation and production.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and detail 3D models and designs for transmission components such as gears, shafts, bearings, clutches, and related mechanical parts.
- Perform engineering calculations related to gear strength, torque capacity, durability, and component life.
- Conduct RLDA data analysis and interpret test results to support product improvement and validation.
- Investigate gear noise, vibration, and NVH-related issues and recommend suitable design improvements.
- Support prototype and gearbox validation activities, including durability and performance testing under different operating conditions.
- Perform failure investigation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for transmission and component-level issues.
- Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure components are manufactured as per design requirements and quality standards.




- Support transmission design and development activities from concept through product validation.
- Work on components manufactured through casting and forging processes.
- Prepare and review manufacturing drawings, GD&T; requirements, and tolerance stack-up studies.
- Apply DFMEA, DFM, DFS, tolerance analysis, and appropriate material selection during product development.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address design, manufacturing, material, and process-related challenges.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

- Hands-on experience in gear design and transmission development.
- Working knowledge of KISSsoft / KISSsys or similar gear design and analysis software.
- Knowledge of gear materials, heat treatment, lubrication, and material behavior.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, structural strength, stress analysis, dynamics, and engineering calculations.
- Positive understanding of GD&T;, tolerance stack-up, and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of casting, forging, sheet metal, piping, and welding processes.
- Understanding of DFMEA, DFM, DFS, design validation, and material selection.
- Experience in failure analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause identification.
- Ability to work with manufacturing, testing, quality, and other cross-functional teams.
