Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Estimation Engineer responsible for preparing accurate technical and commercial estimates, BOQs, quantity take-offs, costing and quotations for Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, ELV and Building Automation projects.

The candidate will coordinate with Design, Tendering, Purchase, Projects, Sales and Accounts teams to ensure technically compliant and commercially competitive estimates.

Key Responsibilities1. Estimation & Costing

- Prepare detailed BOQ, quantity take-off and project cost estimates.
- Study drawings, specifications, tender documents and scope of work.
- Calculate quantities for Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, PA/VA, BMS/IBMS and other ELV systems.
- Prepare material and manpower cost estimates.
- Calculate project-wise material, labour, installation, testing and commissioning costs.
- Prepare detailed rate analysis and costing sheets.
- Prepare quotations based on approved margins and commercial requirements.

2. Technical Evaluation

- Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs and scope documents.
- Identify technical deviations, exclusions, assumptions and missing information.




- Coordinate with the Design team for technical clarifications.
- Verify quantities against drawings and BOQ.
- Understand applicable standards such as NFPA, NBC, IS Standards and project-specific specifications.

3. Vendor & Purchase Coordination

- Obtain and compare quotations from vendors/OEMs.
- Prepare vendor comparison statements.
- Check technical compliance and commercial terms.
- Coordinate with Purchase for updated material rates.
- Maintain a database of material, equipment and installation rates.

4. Tender & Proposal Support

- Support the Tendering/BD team in preparing commercial bids.
- Review tender eligibility, BOQ and commercial requirements.
- Prepare estimation sheets within required submission timelines.
- Support preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
- Assist in identifying cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.

5. Internal Coordination

- Coordinate with Sales, Design, Tender, Purchase, Projects and Accounts.
- Attend internal estimation/tender review meetings.
- Provide clarification on costing and quantity calculations.
- Maintain proper records of estimates, revisions and submitted quotations.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of Engineering Estimation & Costing.
- Good understanding of Fire Protection / Fire Fighting systems.




- Knowledge of Fire Alarm and ELV systems is preferred.
- Good knowledge of BOQ preparation and quantity take-off.
- Ability to read and understand AutoCAD drawings.
- Knowledge of MS Excel and estimation/costing spreadsheets.
- Positive analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines.
- Ability to compare vendor quotations and negotiate rates.
- Knowledge of AI tools / ChatGPT for estimation, documentation and productivity is an advantage.

Qualification

Education: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation or related Engineering discipline.

Preferred Candidate

- Experience in Fire Protection / MEP / ELV estimation will be preferred.
- Experience in handling medium to large-value projects.
- Experience working with contractors, consultants, OEMs and vendors.
- Candidates familiar with government, infrastructure, data center, industrial or commercial projects will be preferred.
- Candidate should have strong follow-up and coordination skills.
