Job Description for Senior GIS Executive/ GIS Executive

Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior GIS Executive/ GIS Executive to support our GIS and mapping projects. The candidate will be responsible for georeferencing maps, satellite imagery, scanned drawings, Base map, cadastral maps, and other spatial data while ensuring accuracy and adherence to project standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform georeferencing of scanned maps, satellite images, cadastral maps, and other raster datasets.
Identify and accurately place Ground Control Points (GCPs) using known & Unknown coordinates and reference layers.
* Perform image/map registration using appropriate coordinate reference systems and projections.
* Check and maintain the positional accuracy and quality of georeferenced data.
* Perform quality checks (QC) on GIS data and correct errors or discrepancies.
* Maintain proper file naming, data organization, and project documentation.
* Coordinate with GIS team members to complete assigned tasks within project timelines.
* Follow project-specific technical specifications and accuracy standards.
Required Skills
* Positive knowledge of GIS concepts and geospatial data*.
* Hands-on experience in Georeferencing and Raster Data Processing*.
* Working knowledge of ArcGIS / ArcGIS Pro and/or QGIS.
* Understanding of coordinate systems, projections, datums, and spatial reference.
* Good knowledge of digitization and GIS data editing.
* Good attention to detail and ability to identify spatial errors.
* Ability to work with large volumes of spatial data.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
Qualification: M.Sc. (GIS & Remote Sensing) / or B.A (Geography / Geology) or Graduate (Any equivalent steam) with PG Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing. Knowledge of Lidar would be an added advantage
