Technical Support Engineer (Storage & Backup)

This role offers an opportunity to support mission-critical environments, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure business continuity through effective data protection and recovery operations.

Your Role

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting enterprise storage and backup environments. You will work closely with customers, cross-functional teams, and OEM partners to ensure seamless backup, recovery, and storage operations while delivering excellent technical support.

In this role, you will:

- Provide L1/L2 technical support for storage, backup, and recovery environments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve backup and storage-related incidents within defined SLAs.
- Perform backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery activities across enterprise systems.
- Troubleshoot backup failures, storage performance issues, connectivity problems, and data protection incidents.
- Support Windows Server and Linux environments to ensure successful backup and recovery operations.
- Analyze logs, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with customers, internal teams, and OEM support teams for issue resolution and escalations.
- Perform storage provisioning,



configuration changes, health checks, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in disaster recovery testing and ensure backup compliance across critical systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, knowledge base articles, and incident reports.
- Participate in on-call support and rotational shift schedules as required.
- Recommend and implement best practices to improve storage and backup operations.

Your Profile

- 2–6 years of experience in Technical Support, Storage Administration, or Backup Operations.
- Good understanding of enterprise backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery concepts.
- Experience supporting Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of storage technologies including SAN, NAS, RAID, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and data protection solutions.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting backup jobs, storage performance issues, and system-level incidents.
- Familiarity with ticketing tools, monitoring platforms, and ITIL-based support processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.




- Experience in customer-facing support environments will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
