Designation: Software Development Engineer II — Infrastructure Platform

Team: Infrastructure Planning

Responsibilities, aka, what we'd like you to deliver :

1.Ownership & Design

- Own platform components end-to-end, including design, APIs, and evolution.
- Drive design reviews, technical decisions, migrations, and upgrades.
- Evaluate open-source and managed solutions using benchmarks and cost analysis.

2.Databases & Streaming

- Own self-hosted PostgreSQL and Kafka architecture, scalability, reliability, and automation.
- Define secure standards for schema changes, migrations, client configuration, and quotas.
- Contribute to upstream codebases and build required improvements.

3.Kubernetes & Delivery

- Design and maintain EKS, service mesh, GitOps, Terraform, and Helm platforms.
- Build operators and control-plane services for stateful workloads.
- Improve deployment safety, reliability, and developer experience.

4.SRE & Observability

- Enhance SRE agents with diagnostics, operational knowledge, and intelligent data retrieval.
- Build evaluation frameworks to improve agent accuracy.
- Define SLOs, alerts, dashboards, and observability standards.





5.Team & Engineering Excellence

- Mentor SDE-1s through reviews, pairing, and design guidance.
- Drive strong engineering practices, review standards, and technical discipline.

Required Qualifications:

- 3–5 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or backend engineering with significant infrastructure ownership.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or Java for building tools and services.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience, including upgrades, networking, resource management, and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing a self-hosted stateful system such as PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, including query optimization, indexing, locking, isolation, replication, and connection management.
- Proficiency in Terraform and cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing, and SLOs.
- Proven ability to take complex technical projects from design through production.
