Crossing Infotech is offering a Medical Coding Internship for freshers and entry-level candidates interested in medical terminology, healthcare documentation, ICD-10-CM, CPT coding, and healthcare revenue-cycle operations.

This internship provides structured exposure to medical coding workflows through supervised documentation review, coding assignments, quality checks, coding-reference research, and healthcare documentation activities. The role does not involve diagnosing patients, providing medical advice, or making independent clinical decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Review assigned medical documentation and identify relevant diagnosis and procedure information.

• Apply medical terminology and basic anatomy knowledge to understand healthcare records.

• Practice assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM codes under supervision.

• Work with CPT coding concepts for documented medical procedures and services.

• Review coding assignments for completeness and accuracy.

• Identify missing, unclear, or inconsistent information in assigned documentation.

• Research applicable coding references and guidelines when required.

• Maintain accurate coding worksheets and assignment records.

• Assist with basic coding quality checks and error identification.

• Document coding questions and escalate unclear cases to the appropriate reviewer.

• Follow established coding guidelines, project instructions, and confidentiality requirements.

• Assist with healthcare documentation and revenue-cycle activities.





• Maintain organized records of completed coding assignments.

• Participate in coding training and feedback sessions.
