Responsibilities

- Review PCB designs, Gerber/ODB++ files, BOMs, and technical documentation to assess manufacturability and assembly feasibility.
- Conduct DFM/DFA analysis and provide recommendations to improve yield, quality, cost, and production efficiency.
- Support RFQ, NPI, and manufacturing industrialization activities by translating design requirements into scalable manufacturing solutions.
- Collaborate with design, production, quality, supply chain, and business teams to align product requirements with factory capabilities.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to PCB fabrication, component selection, assembly processes, and production readiness.
- Support SMT process validation activities, including stencil design reviews, SMT setup, reflow profiling, AOI readiness, and process qualification.
- Generate manufacturability assessments, risk reports, cost-impact analyses, and technical recommendations for customer and internal reviews.
- Drive resolution of design-for-manufacturing issues through direct engagement with customers, design teams, and suppliers.
- Analyze production yield, defect trends, and process performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain DFM guidelines, best practices, and reusable knowledge assets to enhance future product launches.

Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), or Instrumentation & Control Engineering (E&I;).
- Solid expertise in SMT manufacturing processes including screen printing, component placement, reflow soldering, and AOI inspection.




- Deep understanding of DFM/DFA methodologies and electronics manufacturing best practices.
- Proficiency in PCB CAD/EDA tools, Gerber/ODB++ data review, and electronics design documentation interpretation.
- Knowledge of PCB fabrication technologies, materials, tolerances, and assembly constraints.
- Working knowledge of IPC standards, including IPC-A-610, and electronics manufacturing quality requirements.
- Experience with yield analysis, cost optimization, process capability assessment, and manufacturing performance reporting.
- Familiarity with PLM, MES, and manufacturing data systems supporting product lifecycle and traceability management.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and customer communication skills.

Desired Experience Level

- 10+ years of experience in DFM Engineering, SMT Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, Manufacturing Industrialization, or Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS).
- Proven experience supporting customer RFQs, manufacturability reviews, product introductions, and high-volume electronics manufacturing programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in PCB assembly process optimization, yield improvement, and production readiness activities.
- Experience working with global customers, design teams, manufacturing sites, and suppliers across multiple regions.
- Strong capability to identify manufacturability risks and drive design changes that improve quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Experience supporting customer discussions, supplier engagements, technical reviews, and manufacturing launch activities.
