Our client is a global trading firm looking to hire a Reconciliation Manager to lead and build out their reconciliation function in GIFT City.

This is a newly established function within the firm's growing back office, covering daily reconciliation of trades, positions and cash across global markets and asset classes. The role would suit a hands-on operations leader who wants ownership of an end to end process, works comfortably in a flat and fast moving environment, and is interested in shaping how a reconciliation team is run rather than maintaining business as usual.

Responsibilities for the Reconciliation Manager:

- Own the daily reconciliation of trades, positions and cash against prime brokers, custodians, clearing members, clearing corporations and fund administrators.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of reconciliation associates, allocating workload across coverage windows and acting as the escalation point for complex breaks.
- Oversee investigation and timely resolution of breaks, working with internal teams and external counterparties globally to identify root causes.
- Onboard new reconciliations and counterparties as the firm's activity and control environment expands.
- Identify patterns in recurring breaks and feed improvements back into upstream processes.
- Own management reporting on match rates, break aging, root cause trends and team performance metrics.
- Document and formalise procedures to support consistency, scalability and knowledge continuity.
- Partner with technology to evaluate,



design and implement automation and process improvements.
- Work closely with the global team, including senior stakeholders based overseas, across APAC and EMEA coverage.

Requirements for the Reconciliation Manager:

- At least 15 years of experience in reconciliation, settlements or a related operations function, with direct people management experience.
- Strong working knowledge of trade, position and cash reconciliation and the full trade lifecycle, with exposure to global market conventions.
- Familiarity across multiple asset classes including equities, equity swaps, FX, futures, options and fixed income products.
- Hands on experience reconciling against prime brokers, custodians, clearing members and corporations, and fund administrators.
- Proven ability to build and develop an operations team and deliver against tight deadlines across time zones.
- Comfort working with large and complex data sets and drawing practical conclusions from them.
- Interest in technology and automation, and a willingness to drive improvements personally rather than only through others.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to assess processes, challenge the status quo and think beyond standard operating procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage stakeholders globally.
- A controls oriented mindset with robust documentation and organisational skills.
- Based in or willing to relocate to GIFT City, India.
