Post: SAFETY OFFICER (Industrial)

Job Location: Bhiwadi, Rajasthan

Experience : 5 - 10 years

Salary Budget: 6.00 LPA to 10.00 LPA

Position Summary

1. The Safety Officer is responsible for establishing, implementing, monitoring and continuously improving the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHSE) management system across the manufacturing facility.
2. The role ensures compliance with Factories Act requirements, state factory rules, fire and emergency regulations, contractor safety standards and best practices applicable to industrial tape, packaging and converting operations.

About the Company

The organization manufactures and handles packaging materials, industrial tapes, adhesive products, films, carton sealing products, sustainable packaging solutions and related converting operations. The role manages risks arising from adhesive handling, coating/converting equipment, rotating machinery, slitting operations, forklifts, warehousing, electrical systems, fire hazards, chemicals, compressed air systems and contractor activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with Factories Act, State Factory Rules, fire safety norms, hazardouschemical requirements, electrical safety and applicable EHS legislation.
- Develop and maintain risk assessments, HIRA/JSA, SOPs, safe work procedures and permit-to-work systems Lead safety inspections, audits, behavioural safety observations and statutory compliance reviews.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions; conduct RCA and track CAPA closure.
- Drive machine safety, lockout-tagout (LOTO), guarding, energy isolation and contractor safety programs.
- Manage emergency preparedness including mock drills, fire protection systems and crisis response plans.
- Monitor PPE compliance and improve safety culture through awareness campaigns and toolbox talks.
- Coordinate legal inspections and liaise with Factory Inspectorate,



Fire Department and other authorities.
- Conduct induction training and competency development for employees and contractors.
- Track safety KPIs including TRIR, LTIFR, near miss reporting, audit scores andcompliance metrics.
- Ensure secure storage and handling of adhesives, solvents, packaging materials andchemicals.Monitor work at height, hot work, confined space and electrical work permits.
- Support ESG and sustainability objectives relating to workplace safety and environmental protection.

Statutory & Compliance Responsibilities

- Advise management on obligations under Section 40B and other applicable provisions of factory legislation.
- Coordinate statutory records, notices, accident reporting and compliance documentation.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and worker consultation mechanisms.
- Maintain legal registers, training records, inspection records and emergency response documentation.

Specific Responsibilities for Tape & Packaging Manufacturing Industry

- Ensure guarding and safe operations of coating, lamination, rewinding, slitting and packaging machinery.
- Assess fire and explosion risks associated with adhesives, flammable materials and packaging stock.
- Implement warehouse traffic management and forklift safety controls.
- Control ergonomic risks from manual handling and repetitive operations.Manage waste handling, spill response and environmental compliance.

Education & Experience

- Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Industrial Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Recognized qualification in Industrial Safety as per applicable state rules.
- 5 to 10 years experience in manufacturing EHS management.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and risk management systems preferred.
