POSITION SUMMARY
The Country Head will hold overall responsibility for the Indian business, including commercial development, operations, financial performance, people leadership and strategic growth. The role combines full P&L; ownership with hands-on leadership of a new manufacturing project and the subsequent production ramp-up.
The successful candidate will translate regional and global strategy into local execution, deepen relationships with automotive and industrial customers, build a high-performing leadership team and establish the foundations for sustainable and profitable growth in India.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Country Head is responsible for the overall leadership, sustainable development and financial performance of the company in India.
- Lead and manage all commercial, operational, financial, legal and people-related activities of the company.
- Take full ownership of sales, turnover, EBIT, P&L; performance, cash flow and budget compliance.
- Drive sustainable growth in the Indian market, with a particular focus on Automotive, international OEMs located in India, Tier suppliers and selected industrial segments.
- Additional market sectors are Aerospace and EES (Energy & Electrical Systems).
- Maintain and deepen relationships with existing customers while actively acquiring new customers, applications and projects in all relevant market segments.
- Develop and implement a three-year strategic plan for India, translating Group and Asia strategy into measurable local priorities and actions.
- Define annual sales objectives, marketing plans and budgets; closely monitor execution and initiate corrective actions where necessary.
- Establish a structured market-development approach, including regular analysis of market potential, customer trends, competitors and pricing.
- Lead customer-acquisition and marketing initiatives, ensuring an effective product, pricing, promotion and distribution strategy.
- Secure and further develop company's position, particularly within the Indian Automotive industry.
- Prepare plan and strategy for further growth of the company, operationally and commercially (hand in hand) with strong operational excellence as backbone for profitable growth
- Review financial forecasts, management accounts and statutory financial statements; ensure disciplined budgetary control and transparent reporting.
- Represent Indian subsidiary professionally with customers, industry associations, exhibitions, seminars and relevant business events.
- Full personal ownership and hands-on management of the greenfield project across all phases, from design and construction through equipment commissioning, factory relocation and start of production, in close coordination with the PMC, contractors and Group stakeholders with a clear focus of the execution of the project.
- Ensure effective cooperation with Group companies, product divisions and relevant international functions.
- Establish timely monthly and quarterly reporting, including business performance, forecasts, market developments, key risks and action plans.
REQUIRED KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a comparable discipline; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- At least 10 years of progressive senior management experience in an international manufacturing, automotive or technical sales organization, with a minimum of 5 years in a General Manager or Business Head role with full P&L; responsibility.
- Proven track record of leading sustainable sales growth,
improving profitability and managing full P&L;, cash flow and budget accountability.
- Strong and established knowledge of the Indian Automotive industry, including OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and relevant market dynamics.
- Experience in engineered product technology, assembly systems, engineered products or related industrial technology sectors is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in building and developing high-performing leadership teams in a multicultural organization.
- Proven hands-on experience in operational manufacturing environments, with a robust focus on process efficiency, quality management, and continuous improvement.
- Experience working with CRM systems to manage customer interactions, track sales activities, and support data-driven decision-making and experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools is a plus.
- Experience in greenfield factory projects, including site development, construction management, equipment commissioning and start-of-production, would be a significant advantage and is actively sought for this role.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to translate Group and regional strategy into decisive, structured and measurable local execution.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a clear, accountable and collaborative management style.
- Ability to lead and develop cross-functional and intercultural teams across Sales, Operations, Finance, HR and Technical functions.
- Structured working style with a strong focus on execution discipline, performance management and continuous improvement.
- Comfortable operating in a agile, fast-paced environment with the ability to manage complexity and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills at all levels, from shop floor to Group Board.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly within India and internationally, including to Group headquarters.
- Based in Delhi / NCR region, with regular on-site presence at the greenfield facility throughout the construction and ramp-up phase.
Reporting Structure: The position reports directly to the Regional CEO Asia.
