Position Overview
Elitecon International Limited is looking for an experienced business leader to develop its enterprise accounts, government and institutional business, and export sales. The role will be responsible for profitable growth, new customer acquisition and long-term commercial relationships across these channels.
The position requires a strong background in FMCG or manufacturing-led businesses, with hands-on experience in large-account sales, government tendering and international market development. The candidate should be able to convert opportunities into executable contracts while maintaining discipline on pricing, payment terms and collections.
Working closely with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Production and Supply Chain, the Head will lead domestic and international sales execution, customer commitments and channel-specific business plans.
Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy and Revenue Ownership
- Prepare annual business plans and revenue, margin and collection targets for enterprise, government and export channels.
- Identify priority accounts, eligible institutional opportunities and export markets suited to the product portfolio.
- Allocate resources across channels based on commercial potential, execution capacity and risk.
- Build a balanced customer base and monitor dependence on individual buyers, tenders or countries.
Enterprise Sales and Key Accounts
- Acquire large corporate and institutional customers through structured prospecting, vendor registration and account development.
- Build relationships with procurement teams, business heads and key decision-makers.
- Lead customer presentations, product trials, commercial proposals and negotiations.
- Develop account plans covering repeat orders, additional product categories and contract renewals.
- Own major account escalations and coordinate timely resolution of delivery, quality and billing concerns.
Government Business Development
- Identify relevant opportunities with government departments, public sector organisations and institutional buyers, subject to product and procurement eligibility.
- Oversee vendor empanelment and registrations on relevant procurement platforms, including GeM where applicable.
- Track tender notices, qualification requirements, bid deadlines and procurement plans.
- Build qualified relationships with procurement stakeholders through authorised and transparent engagement.
- Develop business only where the Company can meet the stated specifications, eligibility conditions and supply commitments.
Tendering and Contract Execution
- Lead bid or no-bid reviews based on eligibility, expected margins, working capital, delivery obligations and contract risks.
- Coordinate technical and commercial submissions with the relevant internal teams and maintain complete supporting records.
- Work with Finance on bid securities, performance guarantees and associated expiry or release tracking, where required.
- Obtain approval for pricing and contractual exceptions before submission or acceptance.
- Track awarded contracts through supply, inspection, acceptance, invoicing and payment; escalate delays and potential penalties early.
Export Market Development
- Identify and develop overseas importers, distributors, institutional buyers and strategic partners.
- Assess market potential, competition, channel economics and buyer credibility before committing resources.
- Lead distributor selection and negotiate territory coverage, targets, payment arrangements and renewal conditions.
- Develop market-entry plans with clear sales milestones, required approvals and launch budgets.
- Represent the Company at relevant trade exhibitions, buyer meetings and export promotion forums.
Export Commercials and Operations
- Prepare export proposals with Finance and Logistics, considering freight, insurance, currency exposure and agreed delivery terms.
- Negotiate payment security and commercial terms within approved limits, including letters of credit or advance payments where suitable.
- Coordinate orders, production schedules, packaging requirements, shipping documentation and dispatch with the responsible teams.
- Obtain confirmation from Legal, Compliance and relevant specialists on destination-market requirements before accepting orders.
- Track shipment status, customer acceptance, claims and export receivables through to closure.
Pricing and Commercial Governance
- Protect account and channel profitability through disciplined pricing, discounts and service commitments.
- Review supply and distribution agreements with Legal and Finance before signing through authorised signatories.
- Ensure credit periods, exclusivity and other special terms receive the required internal approvals.
- Maintain transparent records of commissions, intermediaries and customer-related expenditure.
- Follow Company ethics requirements and ensure that no improper payments or commitments are made to secure business.
Collections and Risk Management
- Own customer collection follow-up in coordination with Finance and monitor overdue receivables by channel.
- Resolve invoice disputes, deductions and documentation gaps that delay payments.
- Support credit checks and monitor approved limits before further supplies.
- Flag buyer, country, currency and contract risks promptly and agree mitigation with the relevant teams.
- Coordinate counterparty screening and applicable trade-restriction checks with Compliance before onboarding and shipment.
Cross Functional Coordination and Reporting
- Provide realistic demand forecasts to Production and Supply Chain and confirm capacity before making delivery commitments.
- Share customer and market feedback with Marketing and Product Development.
- Maintain accurate CRM records of opportunities, bids, contracts, orders and collections.
- Report channel-wise revenue, margins, pipeline, bid outcomes, export performance and receivable ageing to management.
- Review forecast variances and implement clear corrective actions with named owners and timelines.
Team Leadership
- Build and develop enterprise sales, government business and export teams with clear account and territory ownership.
- Set measurable targets and review both commercial results and collection performance.
- Coach teams on negotiation, tender discipline, international account management and customer service.
- Strengthen coordination between sales teams and the functions responsible for contract execution.
Candidate Profile
- Preferably 15-20 years of progressive sales and business development experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
- Strong experience in FMCG, consumer products or manufacturing-led businesses.
- Demonstrated exposure across enterprise sales, government or institutional business, and exports.
- Proven success in acquiring large accounts, winning commercially sound business and developing overseas buyers or distributors.
- Hands-on understanding of tender evaluation, bid preparation, vendor empanelment and government contract execution.
- Experience with GeM and relevant e-procurement platforms, where applicable to the product portfolio.
- Sound understanding of export pricing, international delivery terms, payment instruments, shipping coordination and distributor management.
- Strong commercial judgment on pricing, margins, credit exposure and working-capital requirements.
- Ability to manage senior customer relationships and coordinate effectively with Finance, Legal, Production and Logistics.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, forecasting and team-management skills.
- Bachelors degree required; an MBA or postgraduate qualification in Sales, Marketing, International Business or a related field is preferred.
- Willingness to travel within India and internationally as business requires.
