Position: Quality Manager
Reporting To: CTO / Plant Head
Department: Quality Assurance & Quality Control

Job Purpose

Responsible for end-to-end quality management from raw material receipt through Induction Furnace melting, CCM, billet inspection, reheating, rolling, TMT processing and finished-product dispatch, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, applicable standards and company specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Establish and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), SOPs, inspection standards and quality procedures.
- Control quality of raw materials, ferro alloys, molten steel, billets and finished products.
- Ensure heat-wise chemical composition, temperature and metallurgical control in the Induction Furnace.
- Monitor CCM parameters and billet quality, including surface cracks, inclusions, segregation, pinholes and dimensional defects.
- Control Rolling Mill and TMT parameters to ensure dimensional, mechanical, metallurgical and surface quality.
- Manage laboratory activities including chemical, tensile, bend/rebend, hardness and metallurgical testing.
- Ensure 100% traceability from raw material heat billet rolling batch finished product.
- Approve product release and ensure accurate MTC/Certificate of Affirmity/Certificate of Conformity.
- Lead NCR, RCA, CAPA and customer complaint investigations using 5-Why, Fishbone, Pareto and other quality tools.




- Develop and monitor quality KPIs covering rejection, yield, customer complaints, process compliance and Cost of Poor Quality.
- Conduct internal, customer, supplier and certification audits.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, SCM, Technical and Sales for defect prevention and continuous improvement.
- Lead Kaizen, SPC and quality-improvement projects to reduce rejection, rework and recurring defects.
- Develop and train the Quality, Laboratory and Inspection teams.
- Have authority to hold/reject non-conforming materials, heats, billets and finished products.

Qualification & Experience

- B.Sc. degree or B.E./B.Tech. in Metallurgy, Materials, Mechanical or related Engineering.
- 10–15 years' experience in steel manufacturing, preferably covering Induction Furnace, CCM, Rolling Mill and TMT/Rebar production.
- Solid knowledge of steel metallurgy, QMS, testing, RCA/CAPA, SPC and applicable steel standards.
