Role & responsibilities

- Create innovative and functional designs for residential, commercial, office, retail, and hospitality furniture.
- Develop concepts and detailed designs for tables, chairs, sofas, beds, wardrobes, cabinets, storage units, counters, and custom furniture.
- Prepare 2D drawings, layouts, elevations, and detailed furniture drawings.
- Create 3D models and visualizations based on project requirements.
- Understand furniture dimensions, proportions, materials, finishes, and construction methods.
- Prepare designs considering manufacturing feasibility, functionality, durability, and aesthetics.
- Coordinate with the production/fabrication team to ensure designs can be manufactured accurately.
- Make design modifications based on client requirements and production feedback.
- Assist in preparing cutting details, material specifications, hardware details, and production drawings.
- Research new furniture trends, materials, finishes, and design concepts.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of furniture design principles, proportions, ergonomics, and functionality.
- Basic to good knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of 3D design/rendering software such as SketchUp,



3ds Max, SolidWorks, or similar will be an advantage.
- Understanding of materials such as wood, MDF, plywood, veneer, laminate, glass, metal, upholstery, and other furniture materials.
- Basic understanding of furniture manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and prepare technical drawings.
- Good sense of design, colour, materials, finishes, and aesthetics.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Valuable communication skills and willingness to learn.

Preferred candidate profile

- Candidates must preferably have a background in furniture design, product design, interior design, furniture manufacturing, or a related field.
- Candidates with an internship or practical experience in a furniture manufacturing/design company will be preferred.
- Candidates with a relevant degree, diploma, or design certification can apply.
- A portfolio or sample furniture designs will be an added advantage.
- Candidates should have a genuine interest in furniture design and manufacturing.
