IT Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Manager to lead our organization's technology infrastructure, network security, and IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing IT systems and network security (including firewalls), ensuring reliability and data protection, leading a team of IT professionals, and aligning technology initiatives with overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
IT Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement the organization's IT strategy, aligning technology initiatives with overall business goals.
Infrastructure Management: Oversee the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, software, and cloud systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
¢ Firewall & Network Security: Configure, manage, and monitor firewalls (e.g., Sophos, Fortinet, Cisco, pfSense), VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to protect the network perimeter.
¢ Network Administration: Manage LAN/WAN, switches, routers, wireless access points, and IP addressing, ensuring reliable connectivity across all office locations.
¢ Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team, including system administrators, network engineers, support staff, and developers, ensuring efficient task allocation and performance.
¢ Cybersecurity & Data Protection: Implement and enforce IT security policies, endpoint protection, antivirus/anti-malware systems, and data protection protocols to safeguard company data and systems.
¢ Backup & Disaster Recovery: Design, implement, and regularly test backup systems and disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and prevent data loss.




¢ Access Control & User Management: Manage user accounts, roles, permissions, and Active Directory/domain administration, ensuring appropriate access control across systems.
¢ Vendor & Budget Management: Manage relationships with IT vendors, ISPs, and service providers, negotiate contracts, and oversee the IT budget to ensure cost-effective operations.
¢ System Administration: Oversee installation, configuration, patching, and maintenance of servers, networks, databases, and business applications.
¢ Helpdesk & Support Oversight: Ensure timely resolution of IT support tickets and maintain high standards of internal customer service across departments.
¢ Software & Systems Implementation: Evaluate, recommend, and implement new software, tools, and technologies to improve organizational efficiency.
¢ Policy & Compliance: Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and security standards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR) and industry best practices.
¢ Project Management: Plan and oversee IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
¢ Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor network and system performance, respond promptly to security incidents, outages, and threats, and conduct root-cause analysis.
¢ Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on IT performance, security incidents, risks,



and improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
¢ Strong hands-on experience configuring and managing firewalls (Sophos, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, pfSense, or similar) and VPNs.
¢ Solid knowledge of network security concepts including IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and threat monitoring.
¢ Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, servers, databases, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
¢ Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user access management.
¢ Understanding of data protection regulations, cybersecurity frameworks, and risk management.
¢ Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop technical staff.
¢ Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple IT projects simultaneously.
¢ Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills.
¢ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
¢ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
¢ Budget management experience, with the ability to optimize IT spending.
¢ Knowledge of ITIL framework or similar IT service management methodologies is a plus.
Qualifications & Experience
¢ Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
¢ 5+ years of experience in IT management or a senior technical leadership role, including network and firewall administration.
¢ Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, network security, teams, and budgets.
¢ Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CISSP, CCNA, Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Security+) are an added advantage.
