About the Role

We are looking for a Peer Review Specialist to support the scholarly publishing process by managing manuscripts from submission through final decision. The role involves coordinating with authors, reviewers, and editors while ensuring smooth and timely execution of the peer review workflow.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to communicate effectively with academicians and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and process incoming scholarly manuscripts.
- Perform preliminary technical and integrity checks on submissions.
- Assign manuscripts to appropriate editors.
- Identify, invite, and follow up with peer reviewers to ensure timely reviews.
- Manage manuscript workflows using online peer review systems.
- Maintain accurate records and update manuscript status in tracking systems.
- Respond to queries from authors, reviewers, and editors.
- Monitor turnaround times and follow up on pending activities.




- Escalate delays or research-integrity concerns to the appropriate team.
- Support smooth and timely completion of the peer review process.

Required Skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively with international/cross-cultural stakeholders.
- Valuable attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and workflows simultaneously.

Education

Bachelors or Masters degree, preferably in:

- English
- Journalism
- Mass Communication
- Life Sciences
- Any relevant discipline

Experience

- 13+ years of experience in scholarly publishing, journal publishing, editorial operations, peer review, or a similar workflow-based role.
- Experience with manuscript tracking or peer review systems such as Editorial Manager or ScholarOne will be an advantage.
