JOB PURPOSE/OVEREVIEW OF THE ROLE:

Responsible for secure and efficient operation of boiler, chiller, air compressor, and cooling tower systems to ensure uninterrupted utility supply for production. The role demands sound technical knowledge, strong mechanical aptitude, and commitment to safety and preventive maintenance.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Operate and monitor utility systems such as gas-fired boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and air compressors in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Adjust and control parameters to maintain optimum steam pressure, temperature, and system efficiency.
- Prepare, coordinate and achieve successful annual boiler inspections.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of parts.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues, escalating major faults to maintenance and engineering teams.
- Record daily readings, operational logs, and maintenance activities in equipment logbooks or digital systems.
- Ensure timely shift handover,



maintaining clear communication of system status and abnormalities.
- Support and coordinate with production, maintenance, and safety teams to achieve utility reliability and energy efficiency targets.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and statutory regulations, including isolation, LOTO, and PPE compliance.

ACADEMIC: ITI(fitter), Preferred: Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCE: 2 to 10 years in Multi utility operations.

KEY SKILLS:

- Strong knowledge in O&M; of Boiler, chiller, Air compressor and cooling towers.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and repair both electrical & mechanical systems.
- Understanding of instrumentation and PLC-controlled systems (preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Certifications:

- Preference for Class 1 or 2 Boiler license holders from from govt. of Karnataka.
