Role & responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot and/or Spring MVC.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend systems following software engineering best practices.
- Build and support cloud-native applications using GCP or other public cloud platforms, Kubernetes, containerization, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Design and implement distributed systems and event-driven architectures using messaging technologies such as Kafka and Google Pub/Sub.
- Develop secure and high-performance APIs with API security, authentication, caching, throttling, logging, analytics, and request/response management.
- Participate in Agile development processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams using Jira, Confluence, Rally, or equivalent tools.
- Contribute to monolith-to-microservices migration initiatives and implement appropriate microservices design patterns.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases and develop scalable data solutions based on application requirements.
- Drive adoption of software engineering, architecture, design, and cloud-native development best practices.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, architecture, and business teams to deliver reliable and scalable technology solutions.

Preferred candidate profile

- 7 - 9 years of overall experience in Java development with robust hands-on experience in Spring Boot and/or Spring MVC.




- Minimum 5 years of experience in RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend system development.
- Strong experience with GCP or other public cloud platforms, Kubernetes, containerization, CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Rally.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, or other message queue and event-driven technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Java, latest JDK versions, Spring Framework, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience in API development, API security, caching, throttling, logging, analytics, GraphQL, and/or gRPC.
- Extensive experience with monolith-to-microservices migration, microservices patterns, distributed systems, and cloud-native development.
- Good understanding of 12-factor application principles and modern application, data, and infrastructure architecture.
- Experience in Retail Pharmacy or Healthcare domain will be an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and effectively in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
