Job Summary

We are seeking a Backup Storage Engineer responsible for managing enterprise backup infrastructure, ensuring data protection, storage availability, and supporting disaster recovery operations. The candidate must have hands-on experience with Hitachi Storage Systems and Commvault Backup Solutions .

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and administer backup servers, storage systems, and backup repositories.
- Configure and maintain backup schedules, policies, retention rules, and job execution.
- Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure backup success rates meet SLAs.
- Perform backup restoration and recovery activities based on business requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for backup and storage-related incidents.
- Perform capacity planning and storage utilization analysis.
- Ensure successful execution of full, incremental, and differential backups.
- Manage and monitor Hitachi storage environments, including provisioning and performance optimization.
- Support disaster recovery (DR) planning, testing, and execution.
- Maintain backup and storage documentation, operational procedures, and reports.

Required Skills

- Mandatory hands-on experience with Commvault Backup Administration.




- Mandatory experience in Hitachi Storage Administration (Hitachi VSP, G-Series, or equivalent).
- Robust understanding of SAN/NAS storage technologies.
- Experience in backup strategies, retention policies, and data lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery concepts and business continuity planning.
- Experience in storage provisioning, LUN management, and capacity planning.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux server environments.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with enterprise storage and backup environments.
- Knowledge of replication, snapshot, and storage virtualization technologies.
- Relevant certifications in Commvault, Hitachi Storage, or Backup Technologies will be an added advantage.
