Electrical Engineer

Pune, India | Experience: 7-15 Years

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of Power Distribution Centers (PDCs), Power Equipment Centers (PECs), modular electrical enclosures, and containerized power systems. The role covers electrical design, engineering documentation, project execution support, and multidisciplinary coordination.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Design & Engineering

- Design electrical systems for PDCs, PECs, modular electrical enclosures, and containerized power systems.
- Prepare and update SLDs, GA drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable/load schedules, equipment and panel layouts, and interconnection/termination diagrams.
- Design MV/LV distribution systems including PCCs, MCCs, switchboards, control panels, and distribution boards.
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, HVAC, instrumentation, and manufacturing teams.
- Ensure designs comply with client specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.

2. Equipment Selection & Electrical Calculations

- Select and size circuit breakers (ACB, VCB, MCCB, MCB), busbars, cables, protection relays, metering devices, transformers, UPS, and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform load, cable sizing, voltage-drop, short-circuit, and protection-coordination calculations.
- Verify equipment ratings and technical compliance.

3. Modular & Containerized Power Systems

- Develop optimized electrical layouts considering equipment placement, cable routing, maintenance access,



and enclosure constraints.
- Support standardization of PDC/PEC product designs and contribute to engineering improvements and design optimization.

4. Project Engineering & Coordination

- Deliver engineering activities in line with project schedules and milestones.
- Coordinate with project managers and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Review vendor documentation and provide technical inputs to procurement.
- Resolve engineering queries during manufacturing, assembly, testing, and commissioning.

5. Quality, Compliance & Documentation

- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with IEC, ANSI, NFPA, and applicable local standards.
- Follow QA/QC procedures and engineering documentation standards.
- Participate in design reviews, technical audits, and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, revisions, and project records.

6. Client & Vendor Coordination

- Review client specifications, drawings, and technical requirements.
- Prepare technical clarifications and respond to engineering comments.
- Coordinate with vendors on technical discussions, equipment selection, and drawing reviews.
- Support proposal, estimation,



and procurement teams with technical inputs.

7. Manufacturing, Testing & Commissioning Support

- Support manufacturing teams with electrical design clarifications and review fabrication drawings.
- Resolve production-related engineering issues.
- Participate in inspection, testing, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Support installation, commissioning, and project close-out activities.

Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 715 years of experience in MV/LV electrical design and engineering.
- Experience with PDCs, PECs, switchgear, modular electrical enclosures, or containerized power systems.
- Strong knowledge of IEC, ANSI, NFPA, and relevant electrical standards.
- Experience with AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, or equivalent electrical design tools.
