About the Role

Bank of America is seeking experienced Trade Surveillance professionals to join its Global Markets Surveillance team. The role involves monitoring trading activities across asset classes, identifying potential market abuse scenarios, investigating alerts, and ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements.

The position is open across two experience levels:

- Trade Surveillance Analyst: 5-7 years of experience
- Senior Trade Surveillance Analyst: 10-13 years of experience

Key Responsibilities

- Perform trade surveillance monitoring and alert investigations across Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives products.
- Utilize surveillance platforms such as Nasdaq SMARTS (SMARTS Trade Surveillance) to identify suspicious trading patterns and potential market misconduct.
- Investigate alerts related to market abuse, insider trading, spoofing, layering, front running, wash trades, and manipulation scenarios.
- Conduct detailed analysis of trading activity, market data, and client behavior.
- Prepare investigation reports and present findings to Compliance and Regulatory teams.
- Partner with Front Office, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Technology teams to resolve surveillance-related issues.
- Ensure adherence to global regulatory frameworks and internal compliance policies.
- Support regulatory inquiries, audits, examinations, and remediation activities.
- Contribute to process improvement, automation initiatives, and surveillance framework enhancements.

Requirements





For Trade Surveillance Analyst (5-7 Years)

- 5+ years of experience in Trade Surveillance or Market Surveillance.
- Hands-on experience with Nasdaq SMARTS or equivalent surveillance tools.
- Strong understanding of:
- Equities
- Fixed Income
- Derivatives

- Experience investigating surveillance alerts and market abuse scenarios.
- Positive analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

For Senior Trade Surveillance Analyst (10-13 Years)

- 10+ years of experience in Trade Surveillance or Market Surveillance within global investment banks.
- Deep expertise in surveillance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and market abuse investigations.
- Extensive experience with Nasdaq SMARTS platform.
- Strong understanding of trading workflows across Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives markets.
- Ability to independently manage complex investigations and engage senior stakeholders.
- Experience driving surveillance effectiveness, process improvements, and regulatory initiatives.

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline.

Note: Candidates with strong Trade Surveillance experience, expertise in SMARTS, and exposure to Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives markets will be prioritized.
