Job Responsibilities
The Cook shall be responsible for:
1. Preparation and cooking of food as per the requirements of the Department.
2. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and food preparation area.
3. Proper handling, washing, cutting, cooking and storage of food items.
4. Maintaining cleanliness of cooking utensils, kitchen equipment and work areas.
5. Ensuring proper use and care of kitchen equipment and materials provided by the Department.
6. Following instructions regarding menu, quantity, quality and timing of meals.
7. Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
8. Avoiding unnecessary wastage of food, fuel, water and other departmental resources.
9. Reporting shortage of food items, kitchen materials or equipment to the concerned supervisor.
10. Performing other cooking-related duties assigned by the authorized officer from time to time.
