About Carpet Planet

Carpet Planet is a growing carpet and home décor brand with both online and offline operations. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant who can independently manage day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, taxation, and financial compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts on a regular basis.

- Handle day-to-day accounting entries including sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, payments, and journal entries.

- Manage bank reconciliation, payment reconciliation, and ledger reconciliation.

- Maintain and verify accounts receivable and accounts payable.

- Handle accounting for online and offline sales, including Shopify/e-commerce transactions and store sales.

- Reconcile payment gateways, COD collections, bank settlements, refunds, and cancellations.

- Prepare and maintain GST records and returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and reconciliation of GST input/output.

- Ensure proper GST invoicing and compliance.

- Handle TDS calculations, deductions, payments, returns, and related compliance.

- Coordinate with CA/tax consultants for GST, income tax, audits, and other statutory requirements.

- Assist with income tax, annual financial statements, and audit requirements.

- Maintain proper documentation and records for all financial transactions.





- Track outstanding payments and receivables.

- Prepare monthly MIS and basic financial reports for management.

- Identify accounting discrepancies, mismatches, and compliance issues and resolve them promptly.

- Ensure books are maintained in accordance with applicable accounting and taxation regulations.

Requirements

- 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.

- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.

- Very positive understanding of GST and taxation.

- Practical experience with GST returns, TDS, reconciliations, and statutory compliance.

- Experience with e-commerce accounting will be a strong advantage.

- Proficiency in Tally / accounting software and MS Excel.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to independently manage accounts and meet compliance deadlines.

- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Experience working with a CA or accounting/tax consultant is preferred.

We are looking for someone who doesn't just enter accounting data, but understands the complete accounting cycle and can take ownership of the company's books, taxation, reconciliations, and compliance.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-growing business environment and should be proactive in identifying and solving accounting and taxation issues.

Salary: Rs 18000– Rs 25000 per month, depending on experience and capability.
