1. Stock Intake & Classification

Receive, verify and log all incoming stock against vendor invoices and memos — weight, purity, stone details, tagging.

– Categorise and sub-categorise every piece to the defined taxonomy: category, sub-category, design family, weight band, price band.

– Reconcile discrepancies between physical stock, vendor memo and ERP entry within 48 hours.

– Flag classification exceptions rather than guessing. Consistency of tagging is the foundation of everything else in this role.

2. Replenishment & Buffer Management

– Maintain stock buffer levels across all defined categories, using a green / yellow / red status system.

– Recommend buffer adjustments based on actual consumption — increases where shortages recur, reductions where stock sits idle.

– Raise replenishment orders based on buffer status and consumption data, not on seasonal hunches or vendor pressure.

– Escalate any proposed departure from the system to the Director, in writing, with reasoning.Role & responsibilities
