Medical Scribe Job Description

- Document patient history, physical examination findings, family, social, and past medical histories as dictated by the physician.
- Record procedures, lab results, radiographic impressions, and other relevant patient encounter information.
- Accompany the physician during patient interviews and examinations to capture accurate documentation.
- Ensure all documentation is completed in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Timestamp and sign all entries clearly, distinguishing scribe notes from physician documentation.
- Assist in chart rounds with the physician to review patient status and care-related issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient information and training materials.




- Do not participate in direct patient care or make clinical decisions; refer all patient care requests to appropriate medical staff.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma required; college education in health-related fields preferred.
- Completion of medical terminology coursework or equivalent clinical experience.
- Strong typing and computer skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Qualified appearance and punctuality.
- Preferred: healthcare-bound students, advanced medical terminology knowledge, and willingness to commit long-term.
