Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Workday Integrations Product Engineer to join our engineering organization and help design, build, operate, and continuously improve the integration ecosystem supporting our global workforce.

Working closely with Product Management, Product Design, HR technology teams, enterprise architecture, security, and other engineering teams, you will take end-to-end engineering ownership of Workday integrations and the services that connect Workday with our broader enterprise technology landscape.

This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on Workday integration development, architecture, automation, reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence.

You will play an important role in creating resilient and scalable integrations that enable seamless employee experiences across key lifecycle events including joiners, movers, and leavers.

Preferred candidate profile

Workday Integration Engineering :

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support robust integrations between Workday and enterprise applications.
- Build and maintain integrations using Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Workday Web Services, REST/SOAP APIs, PECI, and WECI.
- Design appropriate integration patterns based on business requirements, data volumes, security requirements, reliability, and maintainability.
- Develop integrations between Workday and downstream/upstream platforms using middleware technologies such as Boomi and cloud services.
- Perform integration analysis, data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.

Architecture & Engineering Excellence :

- Contribute to the evolution of the Workday integration architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, reusable, and maintainable.
- Identify opportunities to simplify existing integrations and reduce technical debt.
- Establish reusable integration patterns, engineering standards, and development best practices.
- Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to architectural decisions across the HR technology ecosystem.
- Apply solid software engineering principles including version control, peer review, automated testing, CI/CD, and structured release management.





Reliability, Monitoring & Automation :

- Build integrations with observability and operational resilience by design.
- Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, logging, reconciliation, and automated recovery mechanisms.
- Develop solutions for intelligent error handling and, where appropriate, automated or self-healing recovery.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Continuously improve integration reliability, performance, supportability, and operational efficiency.

Security & Data Integrity :

- Ensure integrations comply with enterprise security, privacy, and data governance requirements.
- Protect sensitive employee and personal information throughout the integration lifecycle.
- Implement appropriate authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure data-transfer mechanisms.
- Build appropriate controls for data validation, reconciliation, auditability, and integrity.

Product & DevOps Collaboration :

- Work as part of an Agile Product Engineering team, partnering closely with Product Managers, Product Designers, HR stakeholders, and other engineering teams.
- Own solutions throughout their lifecycle from discovery and technical design through development, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions while challenging requirements where simpler or more sustainable approaches are available.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, technical planning, and product roadmap discussions.
- Collaborate across global teams and communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Experience :

- Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.




- Strong hands-on experience developing and supporting Workday integrations in a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong experience with Workday Studio and Workday integration technologies.
- Experience with integration patterns including PECI and WECI.
- Experience working with Workday Web Services, REST/SOAP APIs, XML/XSLT, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience with an enterprise integration platform such as Boomi.
- Strong understanding of integration architecture, APIs, event-driven integration, and data transformation.
- Workday Extend or broader Workday platform capabilities.
- Experience supporting Workday integrations in a large, global enterprise.
- Experience troubleshooting complex integration and production issues.
- Strong understanding of security, data privacy, and data integrity principles.
- Experience working within Agile and DevOps delivery models.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively across product, engineering, business, and vendor teams.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:

- Cloud platforms such as GCP or Microsoft Azure.
- CI/CD and automated deployment practices.
- Monitoring, observability, and automated operational tooling.
- ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms.
- Power BI or other reporting/analytics technologies.
- Experience modernizing legacy integrations and reducing integration technical debt.
