The Emotional Wellness Services (EWS) at IIMA aims to support the emotional wellness and mental health concerns of members of the IIMA community. Personal, academic and professional pressures can impact our sense of wellness. Through EWS, we intend to provide support and resources that enable individuals to take care of their emotional health.

The Institute requires Resident Wellness Officer who will work closely with faculty, staff, and campus administration to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive educational environment.

Job Description:

- Assessment and management of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.
- Deliver individual counselling and emotional support tailored to the distinct needs of students, faculty, and staff.
- Design and execute campus-wide wellness initiatives, stress-reduction activities, and mental health awareness campaigns.
- Provide training for faculty and department leads on recognizing signs of distress in both colleagues and students.
- Serve as a primary response lead for campus emergencies, traumatic events, or community-wide crises. Coordinate with the campus doctor, local hospitals and health professionals in cases of crises.
- Support cases of substance abuse with de-addiction counselling.
- Establish external referral channels for specialized clinical care, long-term psychiatric support, or specialized employee assistance.
- Maintain strict confidentiality standards compliant with legal and skilled ethics across all client categories.

Qualifications & Experience:





- Master's degree or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or a related mental health field from a recognized University/ Institution
- Minimum ten years of clinical or counselling experience, with demonstrated capability in handling emotional wellness and mental health requirements in academic institutions.
- Registered as a Provisional/Resident Psychologist with the relevant state or national governing body (e.g., State Psychology Board permit or RCI central registration, where applicable).

Age: Maximum 55 years as on the last date of Application. (No Age relaxation to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Women/Ex-Servicemen for this particular position)

Reporting: Chairperson, Emotional Wellness Services.

Time & Location: The candidate is required to reside at IIM Ahmedabad Campus, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad.

Salary & Allowances: Selected candidate will be offered an appointment on a Tenure Based Scaled Contract for a fixed term of three years, which may be extended for a further period as required. Based on the experience and qualification, the selected candidate will be placed in Pay Level 8/9 under the pay matrix of 7th Central Pay Commission. Besides the salary as per the 7th CPC, the Institute offers other benefits which are at par with the permanent employees.
