Purpose of the Role -

To manage Transmission Assembly operations and ensure production targets are achieved with the required standards of quality, productivity, safety and cost, while driving continuous improvement across the assembly line.

Key Responsibilities -

- Manage day-to-day Transmission Assembly operations as per production plan.
- Ensure proper assembly of gears, shafts, bearings, synchronizers, housings and related components.
- Monitor line productivity, OEE, cycle time, rejection and rework.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, process parameters and quality standards.
- Monitor critical assembly parameters such as torque, clearances, press-fit and lubrication.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for assembly defects, breakdowns and process deviations.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, PPC, Stores and Engineering teams for smooth production.




- Ensure effective manpower deployment and line balancing across shifts.
- Drive Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor material availability and ensure minimum line stoppages due to shortages.
- Support new product introduction, line trials, process validation and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Prepare and monitor daily production and MIS/KPI reports.

Kaizen, 5S and Poka-Yoke.

- Positive knowledge of SOP, process control and quality systems.

Qualification -

- B.E./B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Automobile or Industrial Engineering.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in Transmission/Gearbox Assembly or Automotive/Tractor Manufacturing.
