Job Summary

The Storage Backup Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and data protection solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The role ensures data availability, integrity, security, scalability, compliance, and business continuity while optimizing performance, capacity, and costs.

Experience Required

- 12+ years of overall IT Infrastructure experience.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Enterprise Storage, Backup, and Disaster Recovery Architectures.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing large-scale storage and data protection solutions.
- Experience working with Dell EMC, NetApp, Veeam, Commvault, VMware, Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities Storage Architecture
- Design and implement enterprise storage solutions including:
- SAN
- NAS
- Object Storage
- Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI)

- Develop storage standards, architecture roadmaps, and best practices.
- Plan storage capacity, performance optimization, and lifecycle management.
- Evaluate and recommend storage technologies and vendors.
- Lead storage migration and consolidation projects.

Backup Recovery
- Design and manage enterprise backup and recovery platforms.
- Define backup retention, archival, and recovery policies.
- Ensure backup success and periodic restore testing.
- Implement immutable backups and ransomware protection solutions.
- Establish and govern RPO and RTO standards.

Disaster Recovery Business Continuity
- Design DR and replication architectures.
- Conduct disaster recovery drills and testing exercises.
- Ensure critical applications meet business continuity requirements.
- Create and maintain DR runbooks and recovery documentation.

Cloud Storage Data Protection
- Design cloud-based storage and backup solutions across:
- Microsoft Azure
- AWS
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

- Implement hybrid-cloud data protection strategies.
- Manage cloud storage governance, optimization, and cost efficiency.




- Ensure secure data movement between cloud and on-premises environments.

Security Compliance
- Implement encryption for data at rest and in transit.
- Ensure storage and backup environments meet security and compliance standards.
- Develop backup security controls and governance policies.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on ransomware protection initiatives.

Operations Governance
- Define enterprise storage and backup architecture standards.
- Monitor storage utilization, system performance, and backup success rates.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem management activities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to infrastructure teams.
