We are looking for a Junior Propulsion Engineer to support the design, development and testing of monopropellant propulsion systems for aerospace and space applications. The role involves design, experimentation, hardware development, system integration, testing, data analysis, and technical documentation.

Qualifications:

- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

- 0–1 year of experience in propulsion systems, experimental engineering, or related fields.

- Candidates with relevant academic projects, internships, or hands-on laboratory experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in the research, design, and development of monopropellant propulsion systems and associated components such as injectors, catalyst beds, feed systems, valves, and thrusters.

- Support component development, experimentation, testing, and design iterations under the guidance of senior engineers.

- Conduct literature reviews and support experimental studies related to propellant decomposition, catalysis, thermal behaviour, and propulsion performance.

- Assist in cold-flow, catalyst/decomposition, thermal, and hot-fire testing.

- Support prototype assembly, integration, checkout, and testing of propulsion hardware.

- Assist with instrumentation setup, sensor integration, calibration, data acquisition, and test execution.

- Perform basic post-processing and analysis of experimental data.

- Support troubleshooting of hardware and test-system anomalies.

- Assist in propulsion test-stand development,



hardware fabrication, inspection, and integration.

- Prepare and maintain test procedures, checklists, test reports, and technical documentation.

- Follow applicable laboratory, propellant handling, and pressure-system safety procedures.

Requirements

- Sound understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, gas dynamics, and rocket propulsion fundamentals.

- Basic understanding of monopropellant propulsion, injectors, catalyst beds, and fluid systems.

- Familiarity with propellant decomposition and catalytic processes.

- Basic understanding of engine plumbing and P&ID; interpretation.

- Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks) and engineering calculations.

- Ability to work in laboratory and hands-on hardware testing environments.

- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn through experimentation and troubleshooting.

- Positive technical documentation and communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Preferred Skills

- Academic or project experience with monopropellants, catalyst systems, or propulsion testing.

- Basic understanding of CFD and engineering simulation tools.

- Familiarity with LabVIEW or equivalent DAQ/test software.

- Basic working knowledge of Python or MATLAB for data post-processing and analysis.

- Exposure to thrust measurement, pressure/temperature instrumentation, and propulsion test systems.

- Knowledge of reaction kinetics, catalytic decomposition, or thermal analysis.
