Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Security Review and Recommendations
Regularly review the CFS and physical security infrastructure of the premises and recommend necessary improvements in line with updated security needs and regulatory guidelines.
2. Monitoring Key Areas and Activities
Maintain close surveillance and control over the following critical areas:
o Facility access control
o Restricted zones within the facility
o Cargo handling operations
o Delivery and receipt of stores
o Unaccompanied baggage and personal effects
o General security of the premises
o Vehicle entry, parking, loading/unloading
o Cargo movement and storage
3. Supervision of Security Personnel
Allocate and instruct duties to security personnel based on prevailing security conditions, operational requirements, and risk assessment.
Scope of Duties (including but not limited to):
• Ensure perimeter integrity by checking fences and physical barriers in compliance with standards approved by the Contracting Government.
• Verify the identity of all individuals entering the facility.
• Inspect vehicles entering the premises for compliance and security threats.
• Authenticate the identity of CFS employees and verify authorization of accompanying vehicles.
• Restrict access to unauthorized personnel and ensure proper visitor management.
• Conduct searches of individuals, vehicles, and personal belongings when necessary.
• Identify and secure any access points not in regular use.

Cargo-Related Responsibilities:
• Perform routine and random checks on cargo, cargo transport units, and storage areas prior to and during cargo handling.




• Verify cargo documents to ensure accurate delivery and prevent discrepancies.
• Conduct searches of cargo transport vehicles as required.

Operational and Administrative Duties:
4. Liasoning with Police and external authorities in case of theft or any other security incident.
5. Maintain continuous vigilance across the premises to prevent unauthorized access or activities.
6. Review the previous night shift’s Occurrence Book entries and initiate actions on any pending issues.
7. Report to the Operation’s/HSSE Head for daily instructions and provide updates on previous incidents or concerns.
8. Prepare and manage the Duty Roster fairly, accounting for leave, shift rotations, and absenteeism.
9. Monitor for and prevent any suspicious or unwarranted behaviour.
10. Audit unauthorized entries and address instances of indiscipline promptly.
11. Audit identity checks on employees, housekeeping, canteen and vendor staff to ensure entry validity.
12. Check and record the reporting times of all contractual and support staff as per management policy.
13. Conduct regular Tool Box Meetings with the security team to discuss safety and vigilance.
14. Organize and lead Monthly Security Meetings to review procedures and share updates.
15. Investigate security incidents thoroughly and prepare comprehensive incident reports.

Participate actively in Mock Drills for emergency preparedness.
17. Support and assist in Safety and Security Audits (e.g., ISO, CTPAsT compliance).
18. Monitor and audit all relevant Security Registers (IN/OUT, Admin, Wicket Gate, etc.).
19. Prepare and submit Daily Shift Reports with accurate incident logs and activity summaries.
20. Monitor Cargo/Container Movement: Ensure all cargo / container in/out movements follow the SOP (attached) and prevent unauthorized entry/exit.
21. Vehicle Clearance: Explicit vehicles from both gates within the defined TAT (TAT in seconds, e.g., 30 second per container / truck movement).
22. Security Guard Oversight: Closely monitor security guards' duties and responsibilities.
23. Guard Posting Criteria: Ensure guards posted at in/out gates have at least three year of continuous service with the agency.
24. Security Drills: Conduct regular security drills.
25. Fire Safety Drills: Conduct weekly fire safety drills.
26. Fire Pump Training: Train personnel to handle fire pumps.
27. Fire Tank Maintenance: Monitor water levels and top up the tank when it falls below 5 feet.
28. IMDG Training: Ensure personnel receive training under the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG)
Act as a central point of contact between Operations, HR, Fin., Security, Customs external agencies to ensure cohesive execution of admin. Needs.
Facilitate event support, meetings, and site co-ordination for smooth operational alignment.
Ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety throughout the CFS office spaces, yards, and common areas. Align administration policies with safety and HSE requirements to support a secure working environment.
