Job Description: Job Summary

The Dispatch Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the dispatch of finished goods from the plant/warehouse to customers and distributors. The role ensures timely, accurate, and cost-effective dispatch operations while maintaining proper documentation, inventory coordination, vehicle management, and customer delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and manage daily dispatch activities as per customer orders and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with Sales, Production, Stores, Warehouse, Accounts, and Logistics teams.
- Prepare and monitor daily dispatch plans and schedules.
- Ensure proper loading, weighing, packing, and documentation of materials.
- Coordinate vehicle placement and transportation arrangements.
- Monitor truck/vehicle movement and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Verify dispatch documents such as invoices, delivery challans, e-way bills, gate passes, and weighment slips.
- Ensure correct quantity, grade, specification, and destination before dispatch.
- Maintain dispatch records, stock records, and transportation data.
- Coordinate with customers regarding delivery schedules and dispatch status.
- Monitor pending orders, vehicle waiting time, loading time, and delivery delays.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower, vehicles, loading equipment, and warehouse facilities.
- Resolve dispatch-related issues and coordinate with transporters and customers.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, safety procedures, and statutory requirements.
- Monitor loading and unloading activities to prevent material damage and shortages.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly dispatch reports.




- Track dispatch KPIs such as dispatch volume, on-time delivery, vehicle turnaround time, and pending orders.
- Coordinate with the security/gate team for smooth vehicle entry and exit.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for audits.
- Ensure housekeeping and safety standards in the dispatch area.

Qualification
- Graduate/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Commerce, or a related field.
- Candidates with relevant experience in steel, manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or industrial operations will be preferred.

Experience
- Typically 5–10 years of relevant experience in dispatch, logistics, warehouse, or plant operations.
- Experience in handling bulk/industrial material dispatch is an advantage.

Preferred Skills
- Experience in steel or manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of SAP/ERP-based dispatch systems.
- Strong knowledge of transportation and fleet coordination.
- Ability to manage multiple dispatches simultaneously.
- Robust Excel and MIS reporting skills.
- Good knowledge of inventory and warehouse processes.
- Ability to handle transporters, drivers, customers, and internal departments.
