Responsibilities:

Are you passionate about Industrial Automation, MES Integration, and Smart Manufacturing? We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer – Control/MES to join our growing team and play a critical role in transforming customer requirements into scalable, automated manufacturing solutions.
In this role, you will serve as the Automation Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the core bid team, leading controls and MES integration activities while supporting customer RFQs, industrialization, and manufacturing transformation initiatives.
Technical Skills
Automation concept development, cycle-time modelling, safety and manufacturability
Equipment specifications, interface definitions, supplier technical review and acceptance criteria
Capex, payback, lead-time, maintainability and scalability assessment
Integration planning across process, controls, MES, quality and production systems
Owns controls and MES integration: PLC/robot interfaces to IEC 61131-3, OPC-UA and ISA-95 integration, traceability/genealogy, SPC/OEE data model,



and IT/OT network, cybersecurity and infrastructure requirements.
Tool Skills
Mechanical CAD, controls engineering or simulation tools relevant to the specialization
PLC/robot/MES development and interface tools where applicable
Project, capex and data-analysis tools for specifications and business cases
Special Requirements
Demonstrated experience supporting customer RFQs, technical proposals, NPI or manufacturing industrialization in an EMS or complex product environment.
Ability to work with global customers and suppliers across time zones.
Willingness to travel for customer workshops, supplier reviews, equipment trials and program reviews as required.

Job Description
The Automation - Control/MES is the Automation subject-matter owner within the EMS core bid team.
Owns controls and MES integration: PLC/robot interfaces to IEC 61131-3, OPC-UA and ISA-95 integration, traceability/genealogy, SPC/OEE data model, and IT/OT network, cybersecurity and infrastructure requirements.
The role converts customer inputs into a compliant, costed and executable solution, with explicit assumptions,



risks, dependencies and evidence for management approval.
The position works across customer, engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, finance and supplier teams to ensure proposal commitments are feasible and ready for handover into execution.
Responsibilities
Review RFQ, drawings, specifications, BOMs, data packages and customer standards; identify gaps and raise a structured clarification list.
Define the workstream solution, basis of estimate, assumptions, exclusions, dependencies, risks and mitigation actions.
Develop quantities, cycle times, resource loading, equipment/tooling needs, NRE, capex, lead times and implementation milestones relevant to the role.
Prepare auditable calculations and technical evidence for the compliance matrix, proposal narrative, costing model and management approval pack.
Participate in solution reviews, Red Team/Gold Team reviews and customer clarification meetings; close assigned actions on time.
Challenge unsupported assumptions and reconcile inconsistencies across engineering, process, test, quality, automation, supply chain and finance inputs.
Support supplier technical evaluations, quotations and make-versus-buy decisions; document technical comparisons and recommendation rationale.
Define acceptance criteria, validation approach and key deliverables needed to transfer the awarded bid into NPI and execution.
Maintain controlled templates, lessons learned and reusable estimation data for future bids.
Comply with Tata Electronics information-security, confidentiality, quality and document-control requirements.

8-12 years / Experience Agnostic
Qualifications:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, ECE, Mechatronics, Industrial, Production or another discipline relevant to the role. Postgraduate specialization is preferred.
