About the Role
We are building next-generation liquid cooling infrastructure for AI Data Centers , enabling high-density GPU, HPC, and accelerated computing environments.
We are looking for a Design Engineer – CDU to own the mechanical design and product development of Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) and associated liquid-cooling systems.

This role will work across concept development, CAD design, thermal and hydraulic engineering, component selection, prototyping, testing, DFM/DFA, and manufacturing to take CDU products from engineering concept to production.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) for high-density AI/HPC data centers.
Develop mechanical architecture for CDU systems including pumps, heat exchangers, valves, manifolds, filters, expansion tanks, sensors, piping, fittings, and control components .
Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation .
Develop and maintain P&IDs;, system schematics, flow diagrams, and mechanical layouts .
Perform thermal and hydraulic calculations for flow rate, pressure drop, heat load, heat exchanger sizing, pump selection, and system performance.
Select and evaluate pumps, heat exchangers, valves, sensors, actuators, quick disconnects, hoses, pipes, and other fluid-system components.
Design manifolds, piping systems, brackets, enclosures, frames, and sheet-metal/fabricated components .
Work with CFD/thermal engineering teams to optimize CDU flow distribution, pressure drop, heat transfer, and thermal performance.
Design products considering Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), serviceability, reliability, and cost .
Develop prototypes and coordinate with vendors and manufacturing teams for fabrication and assembly.
Conduct pressure, leak, flow, thermal, vibration, and functional testing of CDU prototypes.
Analyze test results and implement design improvements through iterative engineering cycles.
Prepare engineering documentation including drawings, specifications,



BOMs, test procedures, validation reports, and design change documentation .
Work closely with thermal, electrical, controls, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and product teams .
Support transition of CDU designs from prototype to pilot production and mass manufacturing .
Evaluate suppliers and review manufacturing capabilities for pumps, heat exchangers, manifolds, piping, sheet metal, machining, welding, and other components.
Support root-cause analysis and resolution of field and prototype failures.

Required Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Energy Engineering , or a related discipline.
4–8 years of experience in mechanical/product design, thermal systems, fluid systems, HVAC, heat exchangers, electronics cooling, or related engineering domains.
Strong fundamentals in:

Thermodynamics
Hydraulic Systems
Thermal Management
Mechanical Design
Strong hands-on experience with 3D CAD such as SolidWorks, Creo, Siemens NX, CATIA, or equivalent.
Experience creating 2D manufacturing drawings, GD&T;, BOMs, assemblies, and engineering documentation .
Experience with P&ID; / fluid-system design and selection of fluid-system components.
Understanding of pressure drop, flow distribution, pump curves, heat exchanger performance, and system-level thermal calculations .
Experience working with manufacturing vendors and converting engineering designs into physical prototypes.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced product-development environment.

Engineering Analysis:
Thermal calculations, hydraulic calculations, pressure-drop analysis, pump sizing, heat exchanger sizing
Simulation:
ANSYS Fluent / STAR-CCM+ / COMSOL or equivalent
Engineering Documentation:
GD&T;, 2D drawings, BOM, P&ID;, assembly drawings, design specifications
Manufacturing:
Machining, sheet metal, welding, brazing, fabrication, DFM/DFA and prototype development
