Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery is a leading provider of equipment and services for the infrastructure and mining sectors. It is a 60:40 joint venture between Hitachi Construction Machinery, Japan, and Tata Motors. It has manufacturing plants in Dharwad and Kharagpur, and its product range includes excavators, backhoe loaders, wheel loaders and dump trucks.

Role overview

You'll manage outbound logistics for finished equipment from the Dharwad plant. That means sourcing and managing transport partners, controlling freight costs, and making sure dispatches reach dealers and customers on time.

Key responsibilities

- Source, evaluate and onboard logistics service providers and transporters
- Run RFQs, compare quotes and finalise freight contracts through the approval and PO process
- Coordinate with stakeholders to place vehicles on time against the dispatch plan
- Track and report logistics KPIs such as on-time delivery, defect rate and cost savings
- Analyse freight cost trends and drive cost reduction through route optimisation,



network optimisation and packaging improvements
- Handle transit insurance claims with the Insurance Cell
- Keep records audit-ready and support closure of internal and statutory audit points
- Contribute to Kaizen, small-group activities and process automation

What we're looking for

- 3–6 years of outbound logistics or transportation experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with transporter management, freight negotiation and RFQs
- Working knowledge of SAP; exposure to TMS/WMS is a plus
- Understanding of GST, e-way bills, export and customs processes, and Indian logistics regulations
- Solid analytical, Excel and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of RPA or bots is an advantage
- Willing to be based in Dharwad, with occasional travel to dealers and customers
