Team: Oversees unit managers, inventory managers, and senior production staff across both units

About the Role

Crescent Lighting is looking for a Plant Head – Manufacturing & Infrastructure to lead manufacturing infrastructure, vendor development, inventory systems, and cost optimization across the Surat and Vasai units. This is a hands-on leadership role driving automation, in-house capability building, and process discipline at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Projects

- Set up new molding machine capability with all molds developed in-house
- Establish in-house die casting, drilling & tapping capability, including equipment sourcing
- Drive factory automation initiatives across units
- Introduce and manage night shift operations

Vendor & Product Development

- Drive vendor development for the Sachin unit, in coordination with the reporting manager
- Explore and onboard vendors for new product development
- Support scale-up of the Oxyrich product line, including setting up a recent dedicated unit
- Lead initiatives for Oxyrich and Black Body product ranges
- Periodically review masterbatch percentage usage

Inventory & Stock Management

- Oversee inventory management at both units through respective managers
- Implement and monitor BMS at both units, with periodic physical stock verification
- Maintain and randomly verify the dead-stock sheet; investigate root causes
- Maintain BMS for top-selling products
- Implement and enforce Stock SOP across units
- Build a reliable, system-based replacement-data process, including catalogue accuracy and physical verification

Cost & Performance Management





- Conduct cost analysis across production, manpower, electricity, and overheads
- Work with Finance on cost sheet preparation for all products
- Review senior team performance against PMS and JD periodically
- Coordinate with a 3rd-party auditor for periodic execution audits

Quality & Compliance

- Track and report on QC visits to relevant sites on a regular basis
- Ensure customization orders are routed through appropriate management approval
- Approve stock rework decisions in coordination with the designated stock authority

People & Welfare

- Support employee welfare and CSR initiatives
- Oversee facility security and compliance protocols

Asset Management

- Track and maintain company assets (tools, molds — owned and third-party, and others)
- Ensure scrap disposal at both units every 4 months

Market Exposure

- Visit relevant industry exhibitions (automation, plastics, industrial)

Travel

- Approximately 4 days of travel per month across units

Requirements

- 8–12+ years of experience in plant/manufacturing operations, preferably in lighting, electrical, plastics, or allied manufacturing industries
- Proven experience in factory automation, vendor development, and in-house tooling/capability setup
- Strong background in inventory management systems and stock control processes
- Experience managing multi-unit operations and cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical skills with hands-on exposure to cost analysis and process improvement
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Production) or related field; MBA preferred

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
