We are looking for a Senior Accountant to own transaction accounting for our API-driven B2B travel business. You will be responsible for everything from reconciling API booking data to revenue recognition, commissions, tax compliance and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities

API & Transaction Reconciliation

- Reconcile high-volume daily transaction logs from API bookings (flights, hotels, activities) against internal booking engines and supplier statements.
- Identify and resolve booking failures, pricing mismatches, failed API calls and mapping errors.
- Monitor and reconcile virtual credit cards (VCCs) used to pay suppliers.

Revenue Recognition & Commissions

- Apply revenue recognition in line with company policy (for example, recognising revenue on the date of travel or service where applicable).
- Track, calculate and audit split commissions, markups and overrides with B2B API clients and API suppliers.

Multi-Currency & Tax

- Account for FX gains and losses arising from timing gaps between booking and settlement.
- Manage cross-border tax compliance, including VAT, local tourism taxes, GST and TCS.





Reporting & Analysis

- Support month-end closing and deliver vertical-wise monthly and quarterly reports to management.
- Analyse API search-to-book ratios and volume discounts to report on client profitability and cost of sales.

Candidate Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CA, CMA, ACCA or CPA preferred.
- 4–6 years of corporate accounting experience, including at least 2 years in travel tech, OTA or e-commerce.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP and accounting systems (e.g., Traacs, Tally, QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Experience with travel mid- or back-office software (e.g., QTech, Juniper) is a strong advantage.
- Working knowledge of SQL for handling large datasets is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of multi-currency accounting, GST and TCS.
- Candidates from the tours and travel industry will be given preference.

Important: This is a full time onsite position in Mumbai, India.
