About BetterDrones

BetterDrones is a drone-based technology company working across the Power and Infrastructure sectors. We use Visual, Thermal and LiDAR drone data to inspect electrical and infrastructure assets and generate technical inspection insights.

Our work includes transmission lines, electrical poles, substations, railway/OHE infrastructure, metro infrastructure, solar assets and other critical infrastructure.

About the Role

This is not a conventional data-entry or AI data-annotation role.

As a Technical Inspection Associate, you will work on drone-captured Visual, Thermal and LiDAR data and support the technical inspection of power and infrastructure assets.

You will be trained to understand infrastructure components, identify visible defects and anomalies, interpret inspection data and accurately mark observations in the company's inspection workflow.

The role is primarily computer-based and requires strong observation, technical understanding, concentration and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

· Review drone-captured Visual, Thermal and LiDAR imagery of power and infrastructure assets.

· Identify and mark defects, abnormalities, missing components and other inspection observations.

· Understand basic electrical and infrastructure components and their functions.

· Annotate and classify assets and defects according to project-specific inspection standards.

· Perform detailed visual inspection of transmission lines, poles, electrical components, OHE, railway/metro and solar infrastructure.

· Compare captured data with inspection standards, checklists and project requirements.

· Perform quality checks on annotated inspection data.

· Maintain accuracy, consistency and proper documentation of project outputs.

· Coordinate with Inspection, GIS and Operations teams regarding project requirements and observations.

· Learn and follow BetterDrones' technical inspection SOPs and quality standards.

· Complete assigned inspection work within defined timelines and quality requirements.

Preferred Qualification

· Diploma in Electrical Engineering

· Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering

· Diploma in Electronics Engineering

· Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering

· ITI Electrician with good computer skills

· Diploma in Civil/Surveying with strong technical aptitude may also be considered

Important: Nature of Work

This role involves substantial computer-based technical inspection and annotation work.

Candidates should be comfortable with:

· Learning new technical concepts

· Working in a fast-paced startup environment

This position is not suitable for candidates looking specifically for software development, coding, AI/ML development or purely field-based electrical work.

6-Month Training Period & PPO Opportunity

The selected candidate will initially undergo a 6-month structured Training & Development Period.

During this period, candidates will receive practical training and hands-on exposure to:

· Power infrastructure fundamentals

· Transmission line and electrical asset components

· Defect identification

· Drone-based visual inspection

· Visual, Thermal and LiDAR inspection data

· Inspection and annotation standards

· Quality control procedures

· Project workflows





Candidates will be evaluated throughout the training period based on their learning ability, technical understanding, accuracy, productivity, discipline, consistency and overall performance.

PPO Prospect : Candidates who successfully complete the training period and meet the required performance standards may be offered a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) for a full-time position with BetterDrones.

Please note: Completion of the 6-month training period does not automatically guarantee a PPO. The PPO will be based on individual performance and business requirements.

Interview & Selection Process

Our selection process is designed to assess both technical aptitude and basic computer skills.

Round 1 – HR Telephonic Round

Round 2 – 5 Minute Inspection Aptitude Test

Candidates will be shown power-sector and infrastructure-related photographs.

The candidate will be asked to:

· Identify the infrastructure/electrical component shown

· Name the component wherever possible

· Demonstrate basic technical understanding

· Observe and identify relevant visual details

This round is primarily designed to assess the candidate's technical awareness, observation ability and learning aptitude.

Round 3 – Computer-Based Test

Round 4 – Final Interview

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
