A Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in History is primarily responsible for teaching history to senior secondary classes (Grades 11 and 12) in alignment with board curricula like CBSE or ISC.Core Teaching & Curriculum Responsibilities

- Lesson Planning: Design annual, weekly, and daily lesson plans mapped to the prescribed syllabus.
- Classroom Delivery: Teach historical events, eras, and movements using engaging methods like timelines, maps, and primary source documents.
- Skill Development: Foster critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and research skills rather than rote memorization.
- Digital Integration: Use audio-visual aids and digital resources to make history relevant and interactive.

Assessment & Student Support

- Evaluations: Create question papers, conduct quizzes, exams, and projects, and grade student submissions accurately.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor individual student performance, maintain academic records,



and submit regular performance reports.
- Remedial Support: Provide extra coaching or revision sessions for struggling students or advanced resources for high achievers.

Administrative & Qualified Duties

- Parent Communication: Interact with parents during Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to discuss student progress and behavior.
- School Collaboration: Attend staff meetings, coordinate departmental activities, and help organize field trips or historical exhibitions.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in professional development workshops, webinars, and training programs to stay updated on historical research and teaching methodologies.
