ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on General Manager – Projects to lead and manage the company's Fire & Safety project operations.

The role will be primarily responsible for end-to-end project execution, project planning, technical coordination, manpower management, client/consultant coordination, material planning, project timelines, quality and successful project handover.

The ideal candidate should have solid practical experience in Fire Fighting and Fire Protection Projects and must be capable of independently handling multiple projects and leading project teams.

This is a project-focused leadership position, not a pure sales or business development role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Overall Project Management

- Take complete responsibility for the successful execution of assigned Fire & Safety projects.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously from project handover to final completion and handover.
- Prepare project execution plans, timelines and resource requirements.
- Monitor project progress against planned schedules.
- Identify delays, bottlenecks and execution issues and take timely corrective action.
- Ensure projects are completed within agreed time, cost and quality parameters.
- Conduct regular project review meetings with internal teams.

2. Project Execution & Site Operations

- Monitor day-to-day execution of Fire & Safety projects.
- Guide Project Managers, Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors and technical teams.
- Ensure proper manpower deployment at project sites.
- Monitor site productivity and work progress.
- Coordinate with site teams to resolve technical and execution-related issues.
- Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, BOQs, specifications and project requirements.
- Conduct regular site/project reviews wherever required.
- Take ownership of critical project issues and ensure timely resolution.

3. Fire Protection Technical Coordination





The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of:

- Fire Hydrant Systems
- Sprinkler Systems
- Fire Fighting Piping
- Fire Pumps & Pump Rooms
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Conventional & Addressable Fire Alarm Systems
- Fire Suppression Systems
- Fire Extinguishing Systems
- Fire Extinguishers
- Emergency Lighting & Exit Systems
- Fire NOC & Fire Safety Compliance

Responsibilities include:

- Review technical drawings and BOQs.
- Coordinate with design/engineering teams.
- Guide project teams on technical execution.
- Resolve critical technical issues.
- Review installation methodology.
- Ensure proper testing and commissioning.
- Coordinate with consultants and clients regarding technical matters.
- Ensure execution as per applicable standards and approved specifications.

4. Project Planning & Resource Management

- Prepare project-wise manpower and resource requirements.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for timely material availability.
- Plan manpower deployment based on project priorities.
- Monitor material consumption and wastage.
- Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Stores, Accounts and Site teams.
- Ensure project teams have the required drawings, materials, manpower and information for execution.

5. Project Cost & Profitability Control

- Monitor project budgets and execution costs.
- Track material consumption and project expenses.
- Identify unnecessary costs and wastage.
- Monitor project profitability.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Management for cost-effective procurement.
- Highlight major cost deviations to management.
- Support management in controlling project-related financial risks.

6. Client & Consultant Coordination

- Act as the senior project representative for important clients and consultants.
- Attend project review and technical meetings.
- Understand project requirements and client expectations.




- Handle project-related escalations.
- Coordinate with consultants for approvals, inspections and technical clarifications.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and consultants.
- Ensure timely communication regarding project progress and issues.

7. Testing, Commissioning & Project Handover

- Ensure proper testing and commissioning of installed Fire & Safety systems.
- Coordinate with Testing & Commissioning teams.
- Ensure required inspection and testing records are maintained.
- Coordinate with clients/consultants for final inspections.
- Ensure punch points/snags are closed within agreed timelines.
- Ensure proper preparation of:
- Test Reports
- Inspection Reports
- Commissioning Reports
- As-Built Drawings
- O&M; Documents
- Handover Documents
- Ensure successful project closure and handover.

8. Project Team Leadership

- Lead and manage:
- Project Managers
- Project Engineers
- Site Engineers
- Site Supervisors
- Technicians
- Testing & Commissioning Teams
- Define project responsibilities and expectations.
- Allocate manpower according to project requirements.
- Monitor team performance and productivity.
- Conduct regular project performance reviews.
- Identify manpower gaps and communicate requirements to management/HR.
- Develop strong project execution capabilities within the team.

9. Quality & Safety

- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout project execution.
- Monitor installation quality and workmanship.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams.
- Ensure site safety procedures are followed.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspections and quality checks.
- Take corrective action for quality or safety deviations.

10. Fire Safety Standards & Compliance

Ensure project execution is aligned with applicable requirements, including:

- NBC – National Building Code
- NFPA Standards
- Relevant IS Standards
- Applicable Fire Department requirements
- Fire NOC requirement

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
