JOB DESCRIPTION – PROJECT MANAGER (CIVIL)

Department: Civil
Position: Project Manager – Civil
Project: SB Centrum – Township Project
Location: Janjgiri, Charoda, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh
Employment Type: Full-Time | In-Person
Reporting To: Managing Director (MD) & HR
Salary: 50,000 – 60,000 per month

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager – Civil to take end-to-end responsibility for the execution of a township/residential construction project. The role will involve project planning, site execution, contractor and manpower management, quality control, material management, billing, cost control, coordination, and timely project completion.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution

- Plan and execute civil construction activities as per approved project schedules and timelines.
- Prepare and monitor project schedules, micro-plans, WBS, and BOQs.
- Manage manpower, contractors, subcontractors, and site teams.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Identify execution issues and take corrective action to avoid delays.

Site & Technical Management

- Supervise day-to-day civil construction and site activities.
- Review drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and site teams.
- Ensure construction work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Verify the quantity and quality of materials received at site.
- Maintain required material test certificates and quality documentation.

Material & Store Management

- Prepare monthly material requirement plans.
- Monitor material procurement, consumption, reconciliation, and stock movement.
- Verify contractor material reconciliation statements.
- Control material wastage,



aging, and unauthorized usage.
- Coordinate with purchase and stores teams for uninterrupted project execution.

Billing, BOQ & Cost Control

- Verify contractor measurements and bills before submission.
- Monitor BOQ quantities against actual work and material consumption.
- Maintain stage-wise and monthly cost control records.
- Prepare project budgets, forecasts, and progress reports.
- Identify opportunities for effective resource utilization and cost optimization.

Coordination & Reporting

- Conduct regular coordination meetings with contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Review project progress and resolve site-level issues.
- Coordinate with Construction, Purchase, Stores, Finance, HR, Legal, and Operations teams.
- Prepare regular site, progress, and management reports.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with company quality, HSE, and safety standards.
- Monitor construction quality at every stage of execution.
- Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Track project hindrances and ensure timely resolution.
- Address audit observations and ensure closure of identified issues.

Team & Contractor Management

- Lead, train, mentor, and monitor site staff and supervisors.
- Ensure proper manpower deployment across project activities.
- Manage contractor and subcontractor performance.




- Conduct toolbox talks and promote a safety-conscious and performance-oriented work setting.

Commercial & Vendor Management

- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, consultants, and agencies.
- Evaluate vendor performance and support commercial negotiations.
- Conduct market benchmarking where required.
- Ensure project decisions are aligned with quality, timelines, and cost objectives.

Eligibility & Requirements

- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in civil construction/project management.
- Experience in township, residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects preferred.
- Strong experience in site execution, contractor management, billing, BOQ, and project coordination.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of MS Project/Primavera will be an advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to independently manage project execution and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
