Job Purpose

To ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all plumbing systems in the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, restaurants, staff facilities, and back-of-house areas, while maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, and guest comfort.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of water supply, drainage, sanitary, and plumbing systems.
- Attend to plumbing complaints from guest rooms, restaurants, kitchens, public areas, and staff areas promptly.
- Identify and rectify water leaks, blockages, low water pressure, drainage issues, and pipe damage.
- Maintain and repair wash basins, toilets, faucets, showers, valves, flush systems, water heaters, and other plumbing fixtures.
- Inspect and maintain water tanks, pumps, pipelines, drainage lines, and sewage systems.
- Respond quickly to plumbing emergencies to minimize disruption to hotel operations and guest services.
- Carry out preventive maintenance as per the engineering maintenance schedule.
- Support maintenance of kitchen plumbing and grease-trap systems in coordination with the Engineering and F&B; teams.
- Ensure proper functioning of hot and cold water supply systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene while carrying out plumbing work, particularly in guest and food-production areas.
- Use plumbing tools, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently.
- Maintain proper records of maintenance work, breakdowns, repairs,



and replacement materials.
- Report major defects, recurring problems, and material requirements to the Engineering Supervisor.
- Coordinate with other engineering team members for electrical, HVAC, civil, or other maintenance-related issues where required.
- Follow hotel SOPs, safety procedures, fire and emergency procedures, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Ensure minimum disturbance to guests while carrying out maintenance work in occupied areas.
- Maintain adequate stock of commonly required plumbing spares and tools.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer / Engineering Supervisor.

Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of hotel plumbing systems and maintenance practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing problems independently.
- Knowledge of water supply, drainage, sewage, pumps, valves, and sanitary fixtures.
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to hygiene, safety, and housekeeping.
- Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.

Qualification & Experience

- ITI / Diploma in Plumbing or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in hotel, resort, commercial building, or similar maintenance operations.
- Experience in a star-category hotel will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
