Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Chef de Partie (CDP) to join our growing cafe team. As the second-in-command, you will work closely with the Head Chef to manage daily kitchen operations, prepare high-quality dishes, and ensure the line runs smoothly. You must be confident enough to take charge of the kitchen, supervise the junior staff, and maintain quality control during the Head Chef’s absence or weekly off-days.

Key Responsibilities

- Kitchen Operations: Manage daily food preparation, cooking, and plating according to established cafe recipes and presentation standards.
- Shift Leadership: Act as the kitchen in-charge when the Head Chef is absent, ensuring orders are sent out accurately and on time.
- Prep & Station Management: Maintain a fully stocked, organized, and clean workstation; coordinate morning prep work with the fresher/Commis chef.
- Quality & Portion Control: Ensure food quality, taste, temperature, and portion sizes remain consistent throughout the day.
- Inventory & Wastage Control: Monitor daily stock levels, minimize ingredient wastage,



and report replenishment needs to the Head Chef
- Hygiene & Safety: Enforce strict kitchen hygiene practices, food safety standards, and deep-cleaning schedules.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 2+ years of professional cooking experience in a cafe, QSR, or restaurant kitchen.
- Technical Skills: Strong knife skills, multi-tasking abilities on the line, and familiarity with cafe menus (e.g., continental food, quick bites, baking, or specialty coffee pairings, depending on your menu).
- Leadership: Ability to guide a fresher/intern and keep calm under pressure during peak rush hours.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays as per cafe operational hours.
