About ALP

ALP Tech (Angel Lane Partners LLC-FZ) is a quantitative finance, data, and AI consulting firm. We build and deliver platforms across risk, regulatory, and portfolio-optimisation domains for GCC financial institutions — banks, asset managers, and corporate treasury — and for UK clients, with coverage across the GCC and UK plus an India Delivery Centre in Bengaluru.

The role

We are hiring an engineer to build and own the data, BI, and AI layers within ALP's client platforms. This is a hands-on technical role spanning SQL/data engineering, BI reporting, and applied AI — covering data modelling, pipeline design, dashboarding, and integrating ML/LLM components into production systems. You will work directly with GCC banking clients, with regular travel to the region.

Responsibilities

- Design, build and own SQL data models and ETL/ELT pipelines feeding client platforms (PostgreSQL)
- Build BI dashboards and reporting layers for risk, regulatory, and portfolio-optimisation use cases
- Develop and integrate AI/ML components — including LLM-based features and vector search — into production systems
- Write production-grade Python services (FastAPI/Flask) connecting the data, BI, and AI layers
- Partner directly with GCC banking clients to gather requirements and validate outputs on site and remotely
- Build correctness, performance, and data-quality checks into delivery and CI
- Raise the bar: query performance, data lineage discipline, reproducibility

Requirements

- 2–5 years of experience as a data, BI/analytics, or backend engineer
- BS/MS/PhD in computational science,



physics, mathematics, or engineering or equivalent demonstrated depth
- Robust SQL — complex queries, performance tuning, schema design; PostgreSQL, Teradata preferred
- Strong Python engineering ability, ideally with FastAPI or Flask
- Experience building BI dashboards and reporting (e.g. Power BI, Looker, Metabase, or custom-built)
- Comfortable working directly with financial-services or other enterprise clients
- Willing and able to travel to the GCC approximately 30–50% of the time
- Able to join within a 1-month notice period
- Comfortable working in a startup/consulting environment with high ownership and agency

Nice to have

- Exposure to LLM/AI integration — vector databases, RAG, embeddings (e.g. pgvector, LanceDB)
- Experience with banking or financial-services data: risk, regulatory, treasury, or portfolio domains
- Prior experience delivering to GCC-region clients
