Responsibilities

- Own packaging and product traceability architecture, including pack-out design, serialization strategy, unit genealogy, and as-built traceability requirements.
- Develop packaging solutions that meet customer, regulatory, logistics, and manufacturing requirements while ensuring product protection and operational efficiency.
- Define packaging validation requirements, including ISTA/ASTM transit qualification and packaging conformance evidence.
- Review RFQs, drawings, BOMs, specifications, and customer standards to identify packaging and traceability requirements, risks, and gaps.
- Develop estimates for packaging materials, labeling systems, traceability infrastructure, equipment requirements, NRE, capex, and implementation timelines.
- Define process assumptions, dependencies, exclusions, risks, and mitigation plans supporting bid and costing activities.
- Establish labeling, barcode, QR code, serialization, and data capture requirements across manufacturing and logistics processes.
- Support supplier evaluations, packaging material selection, and make-versus-buy assessments for packaging and traceability solutions.
- Prepare auditable technical documentation, calculations, and compliance evidence to support proposals and management approvals.
- Define validation, traceability, and handover requirements to ensure seamless transition into NPI and production execution.

Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, ECE, Mechatronics, Industrial, Production Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Postgraduate specialization in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related discipline preferred.




- Solid knowledge of packaging engineering, product traceability, serialization, labeling systems, and logistics requirements.
- Experience with ISTA and ASTM packaging validation standards, transit testing methodologies, and packaging qualification processes.
- Knowledge of DFM, PFMEA, Control Plans, process capability, and manufacturing quality systems.
- Expertise in manufacturing process design, capacity modelling, cycle-time analysis, and cost estimation methodologies.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel modelling, process simulation tools, and packaging or labeling system technologies.
- Working knowledge of PLM, ERP, and MES systems supporting product genealogy, traceability, BOM management, routings, and work instructions.

Desired Experience Level

- 8-12 years of experience in Packaging Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Traceability, NPI, Manufacturing Industrialization, or EMS operations.
- Demonstrated experience supporting customer RFQs, technical proposals, and manufacturing solution development within EMS or complex product manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience in packaging design, serialization strategies, product genealogy, and end-to-end traceability implementation.
- Experience developing packaging validation plans, transit qualification strategies, and compliance documentation for customer programs.
- Strong ability to convert incomplete customer requirements into executable packaging and traceability solutions with clearly defined assumptions, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Experience collaborating with global customers, suppliers, quality, operations, and supply chain teams to deliver scalable and compliant manufacturing solutions.
