About the Role

We are looking for a creative and highly curious Script Writer who knows how to turn an idea into a story people actually want to watch.

You will create scripts for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, YouTube videos and other short-form content across education, English-language learning, careers, migration, student life and youth culture.

The ideal candidate understands that great short-form content is not just about writing — it's about the hook, story, emotion, pacing and payoff.

Key Responsibilities

Short-Form Scriptwriting

- Write engaging scripts for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and other short-form platforms.
- Develop strong hooks that capture attention within the first few seconds.
- Create scripts that maximise watch time, retention, shares and comments.
- Turn complex educational topics into simple, entertaining and relatable stories.
- Write different formats including:
- Educational
- Storytelling
- Commentary
- Explainers
- Listicles
- Myth vs Fact
- Controversial/opinion-led topics
- Student stories
- Founder stories
- Trend-based content
- Promotional/brand content

Research & Ideation

- Research trending topics, conversations, memes and content formats.
- Identify topics relevant to students, migrants, Gen Z and international audiences.
- Research competitors and high-performing creators.
- Develop new content angles rather than simply copying existing content.
- Turn news, trends and everyday observations into content ideas.

Hook & Retention

- Develop multiple hooks for important topics and test different angles.
- Structure scripts with strong openings, curiosity gaps and clear payoffs.
- Understand pacing and when information, humour, visuals or pattern interrupts should be introduced.
- Continuously analyse high-performing content and identify why it worked.

Long-Form Content

- Write scripts for YouTube videos, interviews, podcasts and founder-led content when required.




- Convert long-form content into multiple short-form clips and scripts.

Collaboration

- Work closely with content managers, social media managers, video editors and designers.
- Provide transparent visual directions, B-roll suggestions, on-screen text and editing cues.
- Work with subject-matter experts to ensure factual accuracy.
- Adapt scripts based on performance data and creative feedback.

What We're Looking For

- Scriptwriting, content creation, digital media or social media.
- Excellent English/ Hindi and Hinglish writing skills.
- Strong storytelling ability.
- Ability to write conversationally rather than academically.
- Strong understanding of Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
- Ability to write powerful hooks and compelling openings.
- Excellent research skills.
- Strong understanding of internet culture, Gen Z and social-media trends.
- Comfortable working with tight deadlines.
- Highly curious and willing to experiment.

You should naturally think in terms of hooks, curiosity, storytelling and retention.

Nice to Have

- Experience in EdTech, IELTS, PTE, CELPIP, LanguageCert or study abroad.
- Experience writing for YouTube creators or influencers.
- Experience with viral/short-form content.
- Understanding of video editing and visual storytelling.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.
- Experience analysing Instagram/YouTube analytics.
- Knowledge of international education, migration or student markets.
