Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Senior Counsellor – Admissions to join our Admissions & Marketing team.
The Senior Counsellor will be responsible for counselling prospective students and parents, understanding their academic and career aspirations, providing accurate information about programmes and admission processes, managing leads, conducting follow-ups and converting qualified enquiries into confirmed admissions.
The ideal candidate should have solid communication and interpersonal skills, a student-centric approach, good knowledge of higher education programmes and a demonstrated ability to achieve admission targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student & Parent Counselling
- Counsel prospective students and parents regarding available academic programmes, eligibility, curriculum, career opportunities and admission procedures.
- Understand students' academic background, interests and career aspirations and recommend suitable programmes.
- Explain programme structure, fees, scholarships, facilities, placements, internships and other relevant institutional information.
- Handle counselling sessions professionally through phone calls, face-to-face meetings, WhatsApp and other approved communication channels.
- Address queries and concerns raised by students and parents and provide accurate information.
2. Admissions Process
- Guide students through the complete admission process, including application, document submission, eligibility verification, counselling and fee payment.
- Coordinate with the Admissions, Marketing, Academic and Finance teams wherever required.
- Ensure that admission-related documentation is complete and accurate.
- Follow up with candidates for pending documents, applications and fee payments.
- Assist students in completing admission formalities within prescribed timelines.
3. Communication & Follow-Up
- Make regular outbound calls to prospective students and parents.
- Respond promptly to inbound enquiries.
- Maintain professional communication with students through phone, email and messaging platforms.
- Conduct systematic follow-ups based on lead status and priority.
- Maintain detailed records of counselling interactions and follow-up activities.
4. Campus Visits & Events
- Coordinate and conduct counselling sessions for campus visitors.
- Assist during admission drives, education fairs, seminars, open houses and other promotional events.
- Participate in school/college visits, career counselling programmes and outreach activities when required.
- Provide prospective students and parents with a positive campus experience.
6. CRM & Reporting
- Maintain accurate lead and applicant information in the designated CRM/admission system.
- Update call records, follow-up status, lead stage and conversion information regularly.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly admission reports.
- Monitor individual conversion ratios and follow-up performance.
- Share regular updates with the reporting manager regarding lead status and admission progress.
6. Team Coordination
- Work closely with the Admissions & Marketing team to achieve overall institutional admission targets.
- Coordinate with counsellors and other team members for lead allocation and follow-up.
- Support junior counsellors by sharing counselling techniques and best practices.
- Escalate complex student/parent queries to the appropriate authority.
- Maintain effective coordination with academic and administrative departments.

- Lead response time
- Number of counselling interactions
- Follow-up effectiveness
- Application conversions
- Admission conversions
- Fee-payment conversions
- Achievement of monthly/annual admission targets

Eligibility & QualificationsEducational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline is required.
- Master's degree in Management, Marketing, Psychology, Education or a related field will be an added advantage.

- 5+ years of relevant experience in:
- Education counselling
- College/university admissions
- Student recruitment
- Inside sales
- Education sales

- Admission counselling
- Candidates with experience in higher education admissions will be preferred.

Compensation
Fixed + Performance-Based Incentives
